His weakness is as a finisher, but outside that he's pretty much a threat everywhere else. And you can't exactly foul him either.
You can absolutely foul him in the dying seconds of a game because that's when it's least likely to be called. A closer needs to be able to self create and handle contact.

The Comp we didn't know we needed.

If Gradey came into the league looking like a teenager, Kelly came in looking like a 40 year old![]()
The other guy I haven't seen a lot of mention of that Gradey could compare to is Kevin Martin, they are similar sized I think, moved and shot well, and were firmly in the tier below all-star despite putting up around 20 ppg for several seasons.

2. My point was, if he gets daylight regardless if he gets fouled or not, he's likely going to score for 2-3 points either by making the bucket, or at the FT line.
I'm not saying he's anywhere near there now, but from a shot making perspective he has it. It's just a question of self creation.

Kevin Martin was extremely adept at drawing fouls, and was a 60% TS guy from 07-11. With a .565 FTr.
Not sure he's a really strong comparison, other than the fact that he was a slender movement shooter.

Fair point, I was very much focused on the movement shooting in my recollection of his style, much like the Rip Hamilton comparison others have made.
