kawhi value was at the lowest. raptors were the only ones taking that risk. celtics and sixers jumped off. and the spurs went to the raptors and got that deal done. mysterious kawhi injury and the fact that it was known that he goes to LA... its a bad example. that noise around kawhi tanked his value. and it was surprisingly cheap with demar and jak.
And so was demars. This was after he completely choked vs the cavs and got benched by casey. Point is we still traded a player with "0 value" for a championship
yupp, true. but for most of those posters here, it was still considered a risk. i think in 9 out of 10 scenarios this wouldnt worked out that well. neither for us nor for kawhi.

They also thought you couldn’t get anything for Bruce or Kelly bc Kelly was washed and we waited too long to move Bruce. Then we got freaking BI for both. I’ve learned to ignore most of the complainers and negative ppl on this board lol. They just love to hear themselves type lol. Supposedly everyone else’s players have value and are good and anybody who plays for the Raptors is trash and has no value and Bobby has no clue what he’s doing ever lol
this board overrates casual scorers like they are some mvp calibre hall of famer players lmaoooo
bruce and kelly was salary match for ingram.. no one was interested in this guy. and u act like we got the second coming of t-mac. dude didnt even played one game so far and i doubt he will reach 50 games with us.
I can’t wait for you to realize how far off your player evaluation is. Until then, I’ll wait for the season. It’s gonna be a good one.
Put it this way: I’d rather have BI for expiring contracts and 1 first than bane for 4 firsts+

you really cant compare the magic situation with ours.
i think the magic, who are much further in their development are happy about their acquisition. is it a bit overpriced ? sure. but they can live with it. they have lot of blue chips to receive assets again if they wanna.
the raptors on the other hand, traded their 3rd or 4th frp within 4 years who doesnt fit the team/construction instead of rebuilding properly.
raps hand out their best players like some candy to everyone. our standards have dropped so much that some see players like rj and ingram as saviours.
thats just a weird comp...id rather have the magic roster.

Scottie being on 1st team all NBA is higher than this happening
Poeltl is a 42,9% career shooter from 3.

I’m not comparing rosters or teams. I’m comparing trade value. The BI trade was solid value.

you are comparing the cost of both trades, ingram had 3 months left, bane on the other hand is under contract for 3/4 more years.
it was solid before hali torned his achilles and turner left the pacers. but it was also redundant. there was no need for a trade like this. everyone around the league said this. most raptors stans are just....delusional

Yeah Gaford is a good backup....Yak a good starter.
That costs more

That could turn Poeltl into a legit elite center as he's pretty high impact and all other areas that are underrated.
