By far most skilled and complete player Ujiri drafted so far in Toronto. Siakam, Anounoby, Powell are nowhere close to him, Siakam has like one spin move, Anounoby cant even run proper let alone play basketball, and Norman has one good game every 20 games.

just realized that NBADRAFT compared him to Patty Mills and it kind of makes sense from a size and iq/offensive perspecitive....

flynn does seem to be a bit better defensively

There's just something about this kid, it's his mentality and maturity. It's like no moment is too big for him because he has the mentality of a winner and always feels that he belongs.

Looks to me like he's excelled at every level of play but hasn't gotten the recognition due to his size or what have you but he fits perfectly with this Raptors team. I also think that FVV is the perfect mentor for him as well, being an undersized guard and "over-achiever" himself.

Really liking what I'm seeing from Malachi. I feel that even Nurse is sensing something special but he has to curb his enthusiasm at this point because it's only preseason.

Poised is all you can say about this kid. He looks like a 10 year vet already. Excited to see him develop in our system.

I think he can/will end up being a better version of Fred. Seems to have better shot selection early on. Doesn't force his drives as much and instead mixes in more floaters and stepbacks that I haven't even really see Fred add. So overall yes I'm already quite impressed by Malachi BUT I still wish we drafted Maledon lol

Overall I can't complain at all though because at least we didn't completely fan on our pick, the kid can clearly ball and will end up one of the better players out of this draft.

I like him too but let’s wait and see what he looks like when we’re playing somebody better than the Charlotte Hornets in a pre season game.

It's balance! Physically even his steals, he's not really lunging. Emotionally he looks like mini-Kawhi out there. Opposite of Lamelo who after hitting a corner 3, looks over to the bench or maybe looking for fans?

I don't care if it's premature.....Flynn's emergence will be yet another development that improves our shot at Giannis.

Fred, Malachi, OG, Siakam, giannis.

All locked in for 3 years (giannis likely to have player option in third year) and everyone entering prime while current contenders continue to diminish with age.

So much pipe been layed this offseason. For the entire history of the franchise I've never bought into such a dubious proposition. I've always been a skeptic about free agency. I am daring to pipedream.

Dude looks legit. There have been multiple times on defense already where I thought they would 100% call him for the foul but he has been smart enough to get his hands out of there. Looks like he could be all-nba at that end which is crazy to be showcasing that from day one.

Offensively he looks to have a complete game as well. Very good shooter from both spot up and off the dribble, appears to have an in between game which is huge for his potential, and makes the right reads. If I didn’t know any better and somebody told me we took him top 5 I would 100% believe it.

How does our front office manage lmao

Just another future young star for Nurse to play McCaw over.

To be fair, he was matched up a with pretty solid defensive guard in Rozier. But I agree, I wanna see how he does against a pesty/savvy defensive guard like Dragic next game.

Jeez! Siakam has an all star and all nba to his name. OG is one of the top 3 and D guys in the league. I agree Flynn is more refined as a rookie than both of them but my god you’re so spoiled by the raptors success that Masai has brought you’re underrating how well we’ve drafted.

“Can’t even run proper let alone play basketball...”. Spoiled bandwagoner man. You obviously weren’t a fan pre 2014. Otherwise you would know what a player not being able to play basketball truly looks like. We had lots of them.

Edit: just seen you’ve joined in 2004. That may be even worse. You should know better.

Boston took Pritchard instead of Flynn, how do they compare so far?

The best part about having a guy like Flynn on the team is that Nurse won't have to run Fred and Lowry into the ground with those 40 minute nights. Not having a 3rd PG and starting the two we have really hurt us last season. He shot the ball well last night and I like that he is a threat both in the midrange and also from deep. Utilizes screens well and definitely plays with the poise of a vet.

That said, he also had 5 turnovers last night to his to his 3 assists. I don't like the slander Freddy has gotten but it seems like it'll be a the recurring theme for the entire season since he got his bag. Starters just haven't played well and you can clearly see that they miss having Lowry instead of Norm.

I did not really start looking a prospects until very late this year and focused on bigs and had Tillman as my target.

I heard this was a guard heavy draft and started looking at the guards expected near the end of the draft and Malachi just popped as someone who stood out dramatically from the rest of the group and he was easily my #2 target and prompted this post.

prospects I like at #29 so far: Tillman, Flynn, Bey

I guess the Celtics also opted for 3 games and only have their 1st game tonight. Kemba is hurt so Pritchard should get over 20 mins.
