**** him, and we are never retiring his number. He made his bed and can sleep in it.

He was a free agent and was capable of making his own decision. He ended up winning 2 rings, going to 4 Finals and played with the greatest player of this generation. He also met his wife in Miami and has a wonderful home and family. I think he is sleeping just fine at night.

The "thrashing" he gave Toronto after he left was so tepid. Now that he is retired he has had a chance to reflect on his career and it's clear he has been trying to clear the air with Toronto and any bad blood that may exist. Why not be the bigger person rather than tell him off with such vulgarity? He ended up making the right choice.

When was there ever an obligation for a fan to be empathetic towards a player leaving their team? People have the right to cheer for whoever the fck they want, let along a player that left their team for their own selfish motives. Why the fck should people care?

Cursing him and wishing him ill is petty. It's the type of behaviour that leads to people throwing bottles and spitting on players.

I think his career being cut short due to a health ailment makes the emotional case over the bitterness in which he left the Raptors.

Also he's making the HoF in large part due to what he did while as a Raptor, the Heat ring was the cherry on the cake but his big career numbers and accolades cames as a Raptor.

He did f*ck all on the Raptors. Im sorry his career got cut short while on the Heat but that has nothing to do with this organization.

What has he done as a Raptor exactly that warrants his jersey retiring? That distinguishes him over his Raptors peers?

It sounds like the only argument ever made for hanging a jersey is sentiment. Its that way with Vince as well.

Lowry is the bar as a Raptor. I dont care what you've done on other teams, what have you done wearing the purple & black (or red & white/black)?

Vince is one of Raptors best players ever & made them into a playoff-team. It took 14 years until Raptors won a playoff series after Vince left. Even sentiments aside, Vince has a strong case having his jersey retired by his performances on the court.

When will the Raps do the same?

They won't. He doesn't deserve it. Bosh was a great player and underrated but we just didn't accomplish anything with him and he left the team only after a few seasons.

The only two players that deserve it are Lowry and Derozan thus far.

Neutral on Bosh but best DVD ever. Its going for 2 dollars and 94 cents.

Like how there is only one review on Amazon.

"Too shorts. Showed bugger all of the whole process and didn't even get to see the whole tattoo at the end. $26. So bloody disappointed in this."

Making the playoffs is such a low bar to clear. You can acknowledge these players without retiring their Jerseys. Both players left this team well early in their careers and what they contributed Im sorry to say isnt all that special or significant enough to warrant such lofty recognition as retiring their numbers.

I don't hold any ill will against Bosh; I am very happy he will be in the HoF its very well deserved.

The guy was an elite player, the general thought was that he couldn't ever be a 1A option on a great team but given what we provided around him as complementary players during his years with the Raps I am not even sure that criticism is warranted.

We had a long time to add a legit second option to those teams and thinking back who would we even argue was the best player aside from Bosh during his tenure as "the guy" in Toronto?

Mike James? TJ Ford? Andrea Bargnani? Jermaine O'Neal? Hedo Türkoğlu?

This team played Bargnani/Bosh/O'Neil as a front court;
My goodness. The fact that he didn't ask for a trade was miraculous, our managements ineptitude was unbelievable during his time with the team.

Raps won a title, Bosh won a couple. The time to hold grudges is over.

It wasn't because of Toronto or the GM's he had, it was because NOBODY wanted to be his Robin. He was a bad player to build around as a 1A. It was a faulty idea from the get go.

We should have dumped him in trade before we picked up BC to force the round peg into the square hole. We would have been so much further ahead as a franchise, if we moved off him early.

Happy for him.

But I'm tired of seeing his name on the first page here.

It's a mood killer

Cursing him and wishing him ill is petty. It's the type of behaviour that leads to people throwing bottles and spitting on players.

Cursing about him, not cursing him (as I'm not a witch), is what you CHOSE to read first off. If you are offended by asterisks and would like more censorship (oh the beautiful hypocrisy after you just complained about perceived censorship), then you should ask the mods not to allow asterisks.

I'm not throwing bottles or spitting on players, however your post might lead to trying to manufacture more fallacies, and is probably more petty. I mean, I'm reading it, Bosh isn't. As for your behavior, seems standard.

Just looking from a franchise perspective, our best move would have been to move him before the O'Neal trade.

Just think of all the pain it would have saved us. No Turkaglu, no O'Neal, maybe no Bargs either.

All those moves, his being here forced them. Live and learn I guess.

You said "F*** him...he made his bed and he can sleep in it."

What am I supposed to take away from that?

I'm not sure why you are trying to deflect from your own words by trying to attack me.

Don't lie. I posted - **** him. That's four asterisks. Your mind filled it in. It's your own vulgarity, not mine.

You're the one that attacked me and to paraphrase, made the a leap saying I would spit and throw things at players soon. So, you don't get to play the victim here, again. Just own it and what you did.

But If you don't like it, and want to ask for more censorship, ask mods for it. Or apply to be a moderator, maybe you can make some real change in the world.

What were you trying to say with four asterisks followed by "him?"

I don't understand how people are mad at him for leaving. He was here for 7 years and we failed to surround him with a single player that was even close to all-star caliber. He had a chance to go play with LeBron James and compete for championships in Miami and exercised his right as a free agent. If he stayed, we would've just stayed as a treadmill team and his prime would've been wasted. It was mutually beneficial to move on.

At least he waited till FA. Stars today don't even wait till FA, they just demand a trade.

2 things I respected about Bosh looking back.

The time he was fuming on the bench near the end of a losing game, and stupid Vince threw a towel over his head to be funny. I liked that Bosh had the competitive fire to be mad about that, not be a silly clown like Vince.

In his last year, I went to a game live, and CB was working by far the hardest in shootaround before the warmup. An assistant had 2 arm pads on, like small sleeve-like goalpost pads, and was banging on Chris as he worked hard at his post moves. Whereas other players were shooting around casually.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

I dont understand why people are defending him about leaving, no one (or at least should) had a problem with him leaving a crappy team...its the WAY he left. He colluded his way out, and trashed Toronto (not the organization) on the way out, talks nothing but dark days in Toronto with nothing good to say (even about that awesome 06-07 season) since he left, in fact pretty much tried to ignore the fact he was on the Raptors, and all of a sudden when the Raptors are winning the Championship he comes out of no where an is all "look at me!!! I was a Raptor!!! Isn't this awesome!!!".

Bosh is what he is. A decent player, border line franchise player, who left and continued to talk ill of the City/Raptors as and since he left and never bothered to show any love for the city or return after retirement, fine..everyone moved on..but oh look, he comes back only when the Raptors are champions and latches on like a leech for this one self serving moment (where is he talking about Toronto now?), sickening, its best if he just continued to ignore Toronto and we ignore him.

Return to Toronto Raptors
