if he gets 20/10/6 for the season... i am sure he would be MIP.

This is with 4 seconds or less on the shot clock so far this season:
Restricted area: 2/4
Mid-Range: 3/5
Above the Break 3: 1/2
It's small sample size, but even going back to last season, when he shoots jumpers with the clock winding down, he has a knack for making those.
The reverse Siakam, Siakam has a habit of starting strong and disappears later in games, Barnes can start of badly and just turn it on in the 4th.
I remember last year the media was complaining about why Barnes would only play half the game, that half was in the 4th quarter usually.
Tbh, Barnes started off scoring like crap and I was prepared to shrug my shoulders and chalk it up to the Wemby effect.
Wemby is absurd defensively, so I wouldn't be too worried had Barnes had a bad offensive game today.

It’s gonna be really tough to beat Maxey.
Not only is he gonna explode with his scoring numbers, the media narrative is already biased that way with Harden’s departure, meanwhile our team barely exists in the minds of US media. I think it would/will literally take Pascal being traded fairly soon & Scottie averaging like 23+ppg because I think Maxey is gonna near the mid 20s or more unless PHI does in fact trade those picks for Zach or one of our guys.

The way the NBA is set up and narratives work, they would even give Cunningham the trophy before Barnes imo. There's a hype machine that can't be beat sometimes, and unfortunately Barnes plays in Canada.

Seriously smh.
Not that they talk about Cade a lot but they do still do so at times. It’s like Scottie doesn’t exist and I’m certain if he played on a half decent or well known team that he’d be talked about waaaay more. If I honestly put my bias aside and watched Scottie’s highlights I’d be like that dude is gonna be a star, he just plays different and stands out on the court but yet not with American media lol

It’s wild how quick Barnes figured Wemby out. It didn’t take him to have a bad game and watch the film later to see that he couldn’t score on him at the rim so he resorted to running him around the perimeter instead. Kid is super smart.

Defensively, Wemby is an exaggerated Evan Mobley, but if say Lebron dashes to the net and Wemby is out of position, there's not much he can do.

not only that, you have to put your body on him so he doesn't get to run around freelancing. Apply maximum pressure as the ball handler so he cant rotate after the ball is kicked.

I watched a clip of Barnes going one on one against Wemby, he almost broke Wemby's ankles but didn't quite finish the move.
Barnes stepped back and when he saw Wemby try to contest the three point shot, he probably knew it would've been blocked so he passed it to Schroder, which then had Wemby focus on Schroder.
This gave Barnes an advantage as he slightly moved around the perimiter and as soon as Schroder passed the ball back it was over, Wemby was not in position to contest the drive.
