As I said in another thread, I fully expect Alijah Martin to take Walter's spot at some point. If we can move one of Walter or Agbaji for a big man that rebounds and blocks shots our roster will have more balance.

I was going to say. Kon was who we thought Gradey was going to be. Kon in less than 15 NBA games is already miles better than Gradey in his 3rd year. Wild man.

Sample size theater Or are we just forgetting the 3 months last year he was averaging 18 odd ppg?
Books not out on Kon. Once he's on the scouting report let's have a less hot take conversation vs under 1 month.

I wouldn't be surprised if the coaches know that Battle is the better player already, but understand that Dick / Walter are being showcased for a mid-season trade. Everyone can see that we need some kind of consolidation at the position.
On the other hand, Dick is so young that I really wouldn't be surprised if he blows up on the offensive end at some stage - he does have the tools but no consistency. Possibly mid-season or next season..

Battles a better shooter.. but does not have nearly the gravity or movement dick provides.

Well, different level of prospects so... Number 13 is barely in the lottery.

Idk about the gravity part. They seem to close out very hard on battle and he always gets players to bite on his pump fake. Plus he’s already a better defender than Gradey. For all that’s said about Gradeys movement shooting he doesn’t seem to make many of those shots lol

Ya that’s a fair point. Was just watching the Hornets game and came away really impressed with Kon. His game seems far more advanced. Pretty impressive considering he’s only 16 games into his career

Can't put Dick and George in the same class anymore....George clears him by alot and was the better pick to be made....

Utah is one of the worst teams in the league and Keyonte is shooting 41% from the field and a dreadful 27% from three. That’s just bad offense. The team is also horrible when he’s on the floor.
It reminds me of the Whitmore debates. George and Whitmore are empty calories. No winning team is going to have Keyonte shouldering a big offensive load. The fact Utah wants to lose and in order to lose they feel that giving Keyonte the ball is the best way to do that says a lot.

He was the 4th pick though....he's supposed to be better than Dick.
Amen Thompson was the 4th pick in Dick's draft
I still got a little bit of hope for Dick, there's a decent chance he could be a late bloomer. Right now he just gives off kid playing against grown men vibes. Eventually he won't be a kid anymore.

He went 10 of 27 from the field lol.
If you let Dick chuck up 27 shots, I'm sure he'd get 30 points too.

This is about Keyonte vs. Gradey, so if Keyonte is shooting 41.2% from the field then what does that say about Gradey who is supposed to be a great shooter but currently at 41.9%?
And this "playing for a bad team" reasoning seems to be used to support whichever agenda is being spouted. Last year it was Barnes was playing on a bad team to justify his bad performance. Now it's the same "playing on a bad team" reasoning is used to nullify Keyonte's good performance.
I'm still hopeful on Gradey, he's got a good head on his shoulders and you can tell he's trying to become better which I can see him do as this season progresses. But there's no need to attack on Keyonte to try to make Gradey's pick selection better. He's playing very well for a 16th pick.

I didn’t even mention Gradey. I am strictly going by what I see and what the numbers show. Keyonte is a high volume, inefficient player. That kind of playing style is not conducive to winning. If Keyonte was on a winning team, he’d be buried on the bench.
I didn’t try to justify Scottie’s performance. He was bad last year and has failed to make any significant improvements in his career. Let’s hope he can keep up his great play this year.
In regards to Keyonte, I think we’ve all been around this game long enough to know what these numbers really mean. It means nothing.

Gradey is adjusting to a different role as he only really played well when he was 1-3 in the offensive pecking order. Now he’s like 4-5 option at best. Likely, I think another team will get the most out of him and not us someday. It will likely be a pretty bad team though where he can put up numbers.

Ehh, it doesn't mean nothing. You don't put up those numbers and not at least show that you're capable of being a decent rotation player in this league.
Gradey hasn't quite shown that yet to the same degree and he'll never be a star, but there are some reasons for optimism. He hasn't even turned 22 yet, for starters. He's getting to the line more and has shown some capability in the mid-range. I do think the 3pt shot will continue to improve and defenders certainly aren't willing to leave him wide open.

I get major chucker vibes from Keyonte. Unless his efficiency improves he'll be on a long list of inefficient volume scorers.
I'm more interested in Walter Clayton personally.

That would be awful for Gradey. If he can’t succeed in this environment then he most likely wont succeed anywhere else.

Yeah I think he probably works better as a higher usage guy. That’s not to say he can’t do well here but to reach his potential I think he has to be high in the pecking order which won’t really happen on a good team imo.
