It's funny because that's the exact reason Sengun fell out of the lottery, but apparently they're not comparable
Sengun had a TS% of 70.9% against grown men.
Comparatively,
Derik Queen is at 58.5 TS%.
CMB is at 61.5 and 62.5 TS% in his freshman/sophomore year.
Evan Mobley, 62.4%
Embiid, 65.5%
Zion, 70.2%
Sabonis, 67.5%, 65.4%
There seems to be a major lack of evidence for an elite post game, both in terms of having zero Jokic/Sengun/Sabonis-esque highlights and an ok, but not elite efficiency.
Sengun is a very poor archetype, but he can score out of the post at an efficient level even vs bigger guys since he has all time great post moves / footwork (probably better than Hakeem and Jokic, but being shorter they aren't as effective) and he can punish double teams because he also has an incredible bbiq/ is an elite passer so he's very tough to defend.
If he put up similar numbers as an athletic wing/ shot blocking 7'0 centre you have a prospect that was on a Lebron/ Luka level. He's a poor archetype for the NBA, but so elite at it that he's a low end allstar player overall.
I always like players that can score in the post and pass it out as you need both of those to be effective in the NBA and can be effective with those 2 skills working in tandem. Problem is, you have to be exceptional at them if you're on the smaller side to be a very good player if you're not athletic enough to be a really good defender. I like Queen's skill and bbiq, I just worry it's not elite enough to overcome his other deficiencies.
Sengun is athletic in that he's ultra coordinated and flexible, but his standing reach is terrible and he is lateral quicks are terrible too. He makes up for it by having elite bbiq and quick hands so he is a really good help defender, but kind of hopeless at defending his guy one on one. He ends up being a really good defender overall when he can guard a non shooter on the perimeter and then help off them to protect the rim so is often utilized that way, but can be picked on if you can get him guarding a playmaking guard /wing.
