Good players along with good development develop.
It’s bad management and those same managements picking mediocre players causing the cycle of mediocrity.
Consider that they had three future MVPs on the same team (has that ever happened??) plus Ibaka and still didn't win a title.
Durant didn't win a title until he went to a team with a better culture and system, and started playing the right way.
Harden and Westbrook have never played the right way which is a big reason why they've frequently struggled in the playoffs.
All that OKC proved is you can have the best drafting luck in the history of the NBA and you still won't win the title if you bring those kids into a culture and system that teaches them losing habits, something that's impossible to avoid if you're a losing, tanking team. Credit to them individually for figuring some things out and growing into what they became but surely all three left some potential on the table after developing all those bad, losing habits.
