All we needed for contention was serge Ibaka? The guy we benched in crunch time when facing elimination?

Enuff respect for serge....but he's not the difference between a treadmill team and a contender.
Yes, were getting Giannis. Great plan.

We have a max slot next season. How much farther did u think we were going with Ibaka this year than without?
This thread isn't about Ibaka. He wasn't gonna change our prospects. But we are worse without him.

Lowry is a great trade chip, plus we have cap. And Masai. We good.

What was your solution? You think we should completely blow it out and take our slim chance at Giannis and make it a 0% chance?

Sheesh.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Be honest, you were going to make this thread whether Ibaka re-signed or not

Things are going to be ugly starting Gasol at the 5.

Not sure how we managed for 1.5 years now.

Yeah, but at least he keeps us elite defensively. With Boucher starting the offense and the defense suffer.

Signing ibaka and losing our max slot for little to no return is the treadmill move. Keeping our max slot is the contender move.

I liked ibaka more than Gasol this past season but people need to chill on the Gasol hate. He is still good in a reduced role. I would love him back with a good young guy behind him.

I wouldn't mind Gasol coming off the bench or starting for specific matchups but I'd rather not have to rely on his as starting center for the season. Boucher is not that answer either.

Right now, it's looking like the front court will be a complete s*** show next season.

Sheesh.
I have a bad feeling we're riding out the Fred Pascal duo.

We should've been better positioned to handle the Kyle inevitable decline. But he's still by far our best player. Not ideal.

Wait, you're saying we're reliant on the health of our best player? I am shocked.

Lowry still has a couple of years left of solid basketball in him and his contract situation, like the majority of our contracts have been structured to give us the opportunity to make a play at 2021 Free Agency.

You may be pessimistic about our chances to sign a notable FA in 2021 but clearly Masai & Co aren't and that's all that counts for me.

You miss 100% of the shots you dont take and that includes next years free agent class.

Signing Ibaka wouldn’t have changed the fact that they aren’t contenders right now, so this isn’t new information.

Time to trade for Harden.

No one was advocating for signing Serge to long term money man.

Most people were hating on the guy back when he was a massive part of a championship team so it’s hardly a surprise. Some just can’t see past the counting stats.

If Gasol actually did return, at least the defense would still be elite.
