Just let Scottie, Dick, IQ and the rest go at it and develop their games.

All the the guys you listed would go 3-6 in this draft. Maybe VJ sneaks in there. This draft is good because of depth & the quality of depth that can be developed into potential stars.

The top 2 are great tho.

Starting this thread before a 2/8 or 5/15 start is the epitome of bad manner and is disrespectful to lord and ruler of the nba, Masai Ujiri, not to mention team compete. The Usual Suspects. At least I know Ben is on board the optimism train and that is enough for me.

Praying for the bball Gods to intervene & give our guys minor nagging injuries the first half of the season that cause a collapse of our record and hopefully management can agree to one more stealth tank...

BUT I'm fully expecting PLAYIN OR DIE TRYING!

Especially now with Edward Rogers at the throne....not that I think Masai is fearful of "losing" his job because they'll likely be a line up of deadbeat franchises and some good ones too that will be more than ready to hire him. BUT do I think he'd like to make it tougher for them to say no & have some leverage at the negotiation table and/or be able to say on the free market that he made the Raptors a Playoff team twice & of course previously champions?! Hell yeah I do...

So I think it's in his own best interest to follow through on what he's preaching publicly and be all about winning because he knows there's no way to get mad at him if ultimately he makes the franchise a Playoff team again. So I fully anticipate that they're gonna do everything in their power to win unless there are unforeseen issues that arise just out of pure misfortune.

Personally I think it's a complete waste of time to try & supposedly "compete" and instead say we trade Yak asap. This is a STACKED draft and if we get into the top 7-8, I'm all but certain we're walking out with another star player - to what extent who knows. But what happens in this next draft will determine if our franchise either set themselves up to be pretenders or contenders for the duration of Scottie's next contract and hopefully not his last one.

So yeah I'm definitely on TWO 1000% this season BUT I don't think for a second Masai & Co are.

This will be the only year since like 2020 that I'm not team tank unfortunately, I know people will find this odd since we objectively need an infusion of blue chip talent on this squad but this current team reminds me an awful lot of the Raptors just before the We The North era, 12-13, 13-14 before the Rudy Gay trade. I think we should give RJ/Scottie/IQ a chance and not tear things down, I know team tank might be low on that trio, but I want to see what they do in a full season together then decide whether I'll be team tank afterwards. I'm personally high on Scottie/IQ a lot, and see Scottie as a future de facto number 1 but I can see why some are lower. We'll definitely need a number 2 sometime in the future, but I don't see why we can't get it with late lottery picks since we drafted our last number 2 option with a 27th pick. I'm fully expecting an All-NBA jump from Scottie and I could see Masai buying modestly (Bruce and a 2nd for Cam Johnson).

Top 2 are great and the top 5 is also nothing to sneeze at....Harper/Troare have star potential as well...Harper could be on the level of Brunson, Troare looks like a Cade clone....And as for VJ....VJ belongs in the same light as Flagg/Bailey cause he deff has Multiple all star potential and potentially superstar upside... To have that as a projected top 5 is by far as stacked of a draft class we have seen in recent time....The teams that are top 5 in the draft next year will all be happy with who they get...Hope we are one of them team.

That's the thing though, very few people if any are asking for a tear down. And the best part is, our team is bad enough that you wouldn't need to anyways. The team is so thin that even a single notable injury will crush any hopes of winning, this team doesn't need to bottom out for years. A year or two dipping their toes into the bottom 5 pool would be enough, if we can snag even a single top 5 pick in the next 2 years, we are likely fine for the foreseeable future.

I don't think the core is bad, I think it is just ok, and we need another blue chip level player to make it a good to very good core. Anyone who is claiming people want a full fire sale are just being sensationalist cause they want to see us make a meaningless play in game.

This season distraction is gonna be if Masai stays, and he won't now with Rogers buying out Bell. Tank hard and give us best chance for Flagg

have to agree.
from a basketball perspective, it's better stealth tank and pick up a high-level prospect

on other hand, it's better we make playoffs, so Ed Rogers doesn't put in his own mediocre "Shapiro" GM that ruins everything

I think they give it 30-35 games, see where they're at, who looks good, who doesn't and then make moves accordingly.

Unless they overachieve and they look like a .500 or better team, I think they will prioritize pick position as the season progresses.

As they say, actions speak louder than words. Process is in early stages and need to see it followed through.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

I feel the same way. They have a passable starting 5 but a bench that leaves a lot on the table. The first 41 games are going to be tough.

Hes saying it without saying it....Its obvious that we are playing the drafting game this year .... Esp with the type of offseason we had with adding so many rooks to the roster....Most of the posters here are on board with that and a select few are still in denial about it thinking we will be a playoff threat...

I think with the tough sched to start will set the tone of the season...I actually think mid way we go all in for a top 1-5 pick...The draft is where we are going to get the talent we need to win again...Masai tried the trading game the last few years and that hasn't always worked out...Forget about free agency...This is music to my ears and i hope he actually is serious about getting a top pick in the draft next year.
