??? I must be missing something, because I didn't say we should replay the game based on that lol.. and I didn't compare it to the Miami game, I just said it builds negatively on that game...what they did was sloppy, and if it could happen with one assist but next time it could be a foul or even a point...the league doesn't want something like this or even the perception of this becoming widespread... don't know how you got that out of my post..
No, the point you are missing was that, as far as the league is concerned, it's a complete non-event. The Miami thing
affected the outcome of the game.
If a Bargs assist is missed, it affects exactly nothing. It has no bearing on the game, the season, or anything. It's a non-factor for anything but people paying attention to Andrea Bargnani's statistics. Missed assists or rebounds or whatever happen. This is not something anyone would be concerned about.
It's a non-event. If Bargs was in the running for the assist lead or something, and this one missed stat affected it, ok, it's something to talk about. But other than that, this is the kind of thing that happens. If you notice it, ok, great, it's funny/odd when it happens.
But to, IN ANY WAY, equate it with something that possibly affected the outcome of the game, or actually MEANT something, and to suggest that the perception of this kind of thing happening would be negative is just over the top. If it was a foul or a point, ok, and for that reason the league pays special attention to that stuff. But when it comes to how you distribute the statistical credit for what has already happened that only affects stats, they don't care nearly as much, especially when you know how many of those a season are judgment calls in the first place.
Seriously, take this to the main board, see what an 'Oh, yeah?' response it gets.
