Bill Simmons was wrong to put Barnes #6 in that draft class but he's right for sure on Mobley a clear #1.

Mobley is arguably in the best environment to thrive to be fair to the other draft mates.

He has a top 10 scorer in Mitchell, a top 10 PG in garland, a top 5 center in Allen backing him up. It’s hard to look bad in that context.

Nets had control of the game tonight but blew it in the last few minutes. Cavs do look good but schedule has been a bit easy.

Cavs real test is the playoffs.

Cavs are looking like the DD & Lowry Raps. Great regular season performers, only to flame out in the playoffs.

Think they have a much higher ceiling than the Demar/Lowry Raptors. Significantly better than them if we’re just comparing teams. Unfortunately for them, the competition is just much better nowadays lol.

In May we'll all be like "how the hell did the Cavs start 11-0?"

When Garlard, Levert, Ty Jerome and Okoro start calming down from 3 a little, they will look a little different. Mitchell might calm down a little, too. He's shooting over 40% from 3 and hasn't ever done that before and has only ever shot 38% twice, but he may also be having a peak season.

Either way, they're shooting over 42% from 3 as a team, and when they start to have cold spells from 3, that offense is going to start looking a lot different over time. They are ALSO shooting 60.3% inside the arc, so it will drop off only so much, but they may look a little more mortal as the season wears on. They're bottom-4 at offensive rebounding and are pretty bad about getting to the line, and converting therefrom (relatively), which will also hurt consistency.

They're also defending really well, so we'll see. I think WaltFrazier is right: the playoffs will be the test. How will they weather game to game offensively? Their D, if it maintains, should keep them in it but we'll have to see.

EDIT: They're kind of like a Warriors-lite setup at the moment, if you think about it.

The East can’t buy a win versus the west

Pistons lost against the Rockets

Only Celtics and Cavaliers are winning in the east

All the teams in the east going to think they have a chance to make play in / playoffs

I hope the Raptors aren’t going to fall in this trap

Kyshawn George just went on a solo 8-0 run vs Orlando. Wizards should just move on from Kuzma.

So many posters clowned on the thought of trading for Mitchell here. It’s a damn shame we didn’t pursue

The Knicks threat was very real though. Cavs took a risk and luck was on their side. Well done to them.

Really tough loss for the Thunder. Chet was playing great to start the year. Hopefully he makes a speedy recovery. The team should be good enough to stay afloat until he gets back.

Congrats to Kyle Lowry who just passed Tony Parker to become the 20th all-time leader in assists.

If Lowry is healthy this season and plays 1 more season afterwards he could finish his career with the following stats:

Top 15 all-time in assists

Top 10 all-time in 3 pointers made

Top 50 all-time in steals

Top 100 all-time in points

A fantastic career.

That is rough for OKC because Chet was having a DPOY and all star level season. Hopefully Presti sees that he can't just plan for a dynasty before winning one. Title windows ain't as open as people think cause of injuries and he kind of gave up on last year team not being aggressive in trades. If Chet comes back in February or after all star break they should still be a strong contender this year though. Hartenstein would help a lot if they get him by end of month.

Cade and Mobely are taking their game to new levels this year.... still not certain what we will get from Scottie when he returns, but hoping he continues to improve.... I think Cade and Mobely pulling away from Scottie at this point...

Banton trying to stat pad in the last second during a 45 pt blowout game? That is an awful look for him. But worse, he takes exception to someone denying him? If he doesn't change attitude, he'll be out of the league quickly.

Especially impressive after Cade missed a whole season with injury
