I wanted Xavier Tillman more and thought he would be a perfect fit here and he just got 15 points 4 rebounds and 4 steals against Philly and has double digit scoring over his last two.
Desmond Bane is 48% from the field and three.
Undrafted Mason Jones just dropped 24 and 4 in his first start.
Jordan Nwora is 50% from three.
I mean those are all players who we knew what they could do well in college, had translatable size and skill and are already performing. Even Maledon in a small role is better than Flynn in every aspect and he is younger and much bigger.
It was a bad draft but it feels like Toronto got a guy that is less NBA ready than we thought and it is annoying because everyone knew he had low upside because of his size and athleticism. Hopefully he figures it out soon because I am beginning to side with Nick about limiting his minutes. He is not productive.
Tillman is good and looks like Taj Gibson. Flynn may have a higher ceiling.
Bane is going to be a SG on the NBA level and Raptors have too many of them.
Nwora is like the forward version of Powell. He's out there to score score score.
I'm glad all of prospects that I liked including Pritchard are doing well. Even Reggie Perry is getting minutes in BK after the gutting trade.
With Tillman, the Raptors might be 8-4 instead of 4-8.
Though, I still like Flynn and guarding strarter level guards at the NBA level is probably the hardest thing to do.
Flyyn missed a 12 foot shot, which I felt he should've went with a floater or a bank shot from that angle. Positive is he got 3 assists and only 1 turnover. On the season he has 10 assists and 2 turnovers. The shooting will come. He's played 4 games of meaningful minutes. Be patient. Flynn looks patient out there not rushing things, either.
Imagine if the Raptors drafted Killian Hayes with 7th overall pick?!?!?!? Getting hurt takes the heat off him. He's shooting 27% and 25% from 3.6 assis and 2.4 turnovers. Detroit should've taken Haliburton. They needed the 3-pt shooting.
