I think Harrison Barnes will display a better floor game in the NBA than what he’s currently showing at the college level because Roy Williams runs a strict offensive system that doesn’t allow much freedom for his wing players other than moving off the ball and popping spot up jumpers. Already a stellar defender and rebounder with a silky smooth jumper that’s money to top it all off is easily a valuable player. Give Barnes more freedom to work with the ball in his hands and there’s no doubt in my mind he'll disappoint. Barnes absolutely had no trouble putting the ball on the floor taking it strong to the hoop last night, so he’s more than a catch-and-shoot jumpshooter when he’s being aggressive. I remember last year, Barnes would expose the ball to his defender when he’s sizing up and get the ball stripped as he gets into either a shooting motion or setting up for a drive by. This year, he’s doing a far better job protecting the ball and utilizing screens to get past his defender to get inside. He’s showing a good inside-out dribble stepping into a frontal crossover quickly that I didn’t see too much in his freshman year. In the glimpses I've seen when Barnes is creating for himself instead of Kendall Marhsall, it doesn't look too bad.
Same goes for Jeremy Lamb. Most underrated aspect of his game this year is his playmaking running the pick-and-roll. He's doing a phenomenal job playing off of his shooting to create for his teammates.
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth
