No. Love Mobley and think he’s gonna be great. But I prefer a guy like Barnes cause he do basically do everything and is the true image of positionless basketball. Also love the locker room intangibles and energy he brings

I know some would do it, but I personally would not

I think we may build the team in a different way.
Mobley will need ball handlers with passing around him, so we may keep Lowry. Our whole off-season could be different.

Regardless, there is no point in swapping Barnes and Mobley.

No idea which will be better. Mobley looks (and his numbers resemble those of) AD and Scottie's numbers resemble a 3rd year (1 year older than Scottie) Giannis with the obvious caveat that Giannis was improving from way behind a polished high school age player in Scottie. So if Scottie is a 90% Giannis and Mobley a 100% AD that's probably about the same level?

It's tough not to look at their context and think both teams would be better. Cleveland has bigs and needs wings and the Raptors need a 5:

Mobley
Siakam
OG
Trent
Van Vleet

just looks like it would be so classically solid once Mobley becomes a 20+ guy and a high post hub as a passer. Defensively you have 5 guys you'd expect to be above average guarding their positions.

Allen
Markannen
Barnes
Sexton
Garland

Suddenly Cleveland's frontcourt makes sense defensively and they still have 3 shooters surrounding Barnes and he gets a lob threat so he might even have more room to work than he does in the mid-range/in close as he does in Toronto.

Hell no. But I ain't ever been really big on Zion. Great player. Not sure he plays winning basketball.

Zion still looks like he is overweight. Dude needs to get in shape or else he will continue to have injuries. Do not see things ending well with him and Pelicans. He just does not seem like he wants to be there and looks completely checked out.

I think Zion's signing with the Knicks at his first opportunity. It's a big market and his bromance with Barrett will seal the deal.

Surely Barnes has to be on top of any Rookie Ladder after last night's game.

Do they do player of the month awards in October, considering it's a short month? If so, you'd think Scottie would have RoTM locked up after last night, with comparatively lesser games from Mobley and Duarte.

i haven't bothered posting in the general board, but to those raptor fans who are doing, it's a lost cause...the rest of them there must envy the fact we drafted a 100% all-star in the making, maybe even a superstar if he develops as we all expect him to...

I think it's time to pull out all those draft grades done right after the draft.

Mobley and Cunningham scored two points last night With 1/6 and 1/8 clips respectively.
Jalen Suggs shot for 3/13.

Scottie lucky to be drafted by the raps and we’re lucky to draft him.

Some people over there got triggered when I suggested Mobley isn't miles ahead of Barnes, it was pretty funny.

It is a perfect combination. Scottie wouldn't have developed and looked the way he has looked on another lottery team. Detroit, Houston, Orlando and Cleveland would've been horrible for his development, they'd be losing and getting blown out every night and he'd be surrounded by players who have never won in this league. Aside from the Washington dud in the season opener we have competed in every game (4-2) and in two of our four wins we've managed to blow the other team out. We compete every night and we've been doing so without our best player.

We are also extremely lucky to have a guy like Scottie because he fits the culture of this team perfectly. He gets after it on the defensive end, has an amazing work ethic and strong character. Not to mention his size, athleticism and feel for the game.

I’m pretty sure they combine October and November. I recall Nick Nurse winning CoTM for Oct/Nov in both 2018 and 2019

Scottie's ceiling is higher than Mobley's and Scottie's game fits in better with what we are trying to do which is play position less basketball. I love Mobley's game though and he's going to be a stud. But the more I watch Mobley and Scottie, the more I think Masai might've actually had Scottie #1 on his draft board.

If he maintains these averages and we are sitting at a top 6 seed, it could happen I suppose. Long shot tho

Looking at the Eastern all stars last year, we could say that Simmons and Kyrie are probably out. Possibly Sabonis too if they’re sitting at the bottom of the standings

Trae Young will be added for sure. probably Demar and Bam too. Gonna be really tough. Last rookie to do it was Blake Griffin
