We need an elite shooter in our starting line up. If the Suns blow it up maybe we can put together a competitive package for Booker. Barrett + 7th + 2026 1st swap + 2027 1st protected (top 10).
Poeltl / Wolf (POR 2nd)
Barnes / Mogbo
Ingram / Agbaji
Booker / Dick
Quickley / Shead
Could that be a contender?
I definitely think it could be a contender. I don't see the Suns going for that return though. I think it's pretty light. I'm not sure why they would want Barrett. I do wonder what RJ's value across the league is now (I.e. How much has it change since he was viewed as a "negative asset")?
I doubt they do. We'd also be deep in the tax.
Assuming we pick 5th we're at 185.8M for 12 roster spots. We would have to fill 3 roster spots with less than 2M available.
We're almost definitely looking at some kind of trade. I think we sell Agbaji for high value and then look to off load Barrett before the deadline. If Agbaji gets us a late pick or a couple 2nd rounders we can package those with RJ for big man depth.
Poeltl / (Barrett trade)
Barnes / Mogbo
Ingram / Walter
Dick / Johnson
Quickley / Shead
We are going to be balls to the wall against the tax and it'll cause flexibility issues when we're trying to improve or fill in holes on our team. This also pretty much means we're going to lose Boucher for nothing and let his contract expire.
A big move for Book or another star is pretty unlikely.
IQ is good but we're going to regret his contract in the future. If we had him for 25-27M that extra room would give us a lot more breathing space.
