Do not want to give AD and extension if we get him. That's just shooting ourselves in the foot.

Anthony Davis is one of my fav players when healthy. Guy is a beast. Wonder how he would do in Toronto with Mckecknie

Has Alex's magic been that helpful over the past half decade, though? OG was still injury prone, Scottie's been missing chippie games all over the place even outside of the tank year, etc, etc.
Some guys are just injury-prone, and there's only so much that training and AT will do about it.

Not every player will translate. A lot of OG / Scottie missing games is that they play really hard and they get chippy injuries
But guys like Kawhi, BI have definitely benefitted from our approach on sports science.

I think Jak and IQ are negative contracts.
Flipping for AD is fair.

BI hasn't played a half season yet, so we don't know anything about the impact our guys will have (or won't) on him.
And Kawhi played 60 games for us, which was the third-worst mark of his career to that point. He played 57 the year after, had two bad years, then played 68 in 2024. So again, I don't know that we did much in that regard.

Everything points to those guys benefitting in our system. Heck, Kawhi even publicly commended Alex for his program lol. And yeah obviously BI will need to see the season out but so far he's played every game and looked real good *reverse jinx* ... so not sure where you are going with that one
So yes, Alex can definitely impact these guys positively with his regime.

I don't want the Raps to pay anyone the $ AD is expecting.

Re: Shams: Raps one of teams to pursue Anthony Davis
If it's IQ, Yak, Gradey, Ochai + 2027 FRP, then I'm actually good with it!
But if it's RJ, I'd probably pass. Just makes us too dependent on AD's health that way AND I think if we are going to "make some noise", RJ is actually THE extra guy who I think would help us to be at the level of the top teams in the East/possibly be the swing piece that may help us actually potentially get out of the East. If it's IQ, I think he's too inconsistent and too easy to target defensively, that it come to bite us in the ass (no Diddy) against the best teams in the Conference.
Ohhh...and I think we need to fight to stay in THIS particular draft considering the glut of talent there is a great chance to grab a steal even in the 20s. If we're able to add some sort of steal IE/ a taller, more talented PG as this particular draft is loaded with -- suddenly we could be a REAL threat, that STILL has good assets to make a move to put us over the top if necessary.

I guess we getting AD now? Don’t think the Hawks will trade for him now

Why not?
Dallas wants expirings, young players, and draft capital
Porzingis, Kennard, Risacher, 2026 1st (not pelicans)
I think Atlanta gets him and on their end they just cleared $35m off the books for next season

if we can replace Yak with AD and IQ, sure why not.
raf1995 wrote:I just don’t think he has that kind of potential. I think we will regret not trading him for a haul in a few years when he’s a mid-tier starter with nice playmaking and defense and a shaky jumper.

I would much rather have AD than Jak. No one else is becoming available at his level in the near future and even if there was someone available as good as AD who isnt injury prone , we wouldn’t have the assets to get them. AD trade makes too much sense

Yeah, it is way more likely he goes to the Hawks now.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….

AD doesn't want to be a Center...

CMB at Center, with AD and Scottie swarming in from the sides.

Kawhi was in a contract year... theres no way he plays through without the incentive of a max contract. He has rinsed and repeated the same playback to scam the Clippers out of 7 years worth of max money lol

The real answer is, we just got lucky with Kawhi lmao. His body broke down half way into the Bucks series, he just gutted through it.

Please, someone trade for him already so I don't have to live in constant fear.
