Been noticing the happiness is gone from his game for a while now...not just the dancing celebration, I'm glad that is gone. But his facial expressions, body demeanor has been off imo

Dallas gets:
Immanuel Quickley
$32,500,000
(incl. ULTBE)
+ 3 yr, $97,500,000
Jakob Poeltl
$19,500,000
(incl. ULTBE)
+ 1 yr, $19,500,000 (+ extension)
Gradey Dick
$4,990,560
+ 1 yr, $7,131,511
and has to wave 1 player.
Toronto gets:
Anthony Davis
Center
$54,126,450
+ 2 yr, $121,243,248
D'Angelo Russell
Point Guard
via Mid Level Exception
$5,685,000
+ 1 yr, $5,969,250
and they stay under the 1st apron.
I have no doubt picks of some sort need to be involved but the money just works too well.

From a talent perspective that’s a steal. The issue is obviously Davis is always hurt. What’s the point of fielding a team when theyre never gonna be healthy together. Like jack says sometimes the best ability is availability and Davis for how great he is is never available

Jerry Lucas wrote:Jake Fischer already shot down the notion that the Raptors contextual interest in AD is an upgrade on Poeltl at the 5. He said the Raptors have no plans on trading Poeltl, and want to add AD while keeping Poeltl. Seems like if the Raptors got AD they would start him at the 4.
Which IMO means the bad money the Raptors are widely reported to be exploring moving off of pretty much has to be IQ. Next season RJ is going to be on an expiring contract, so I seriously doubt that kind of reporting could be referring to RJ's contract anymore.

ArthurVandelay wrote:Mavs posturing at this point. There will come a time in near future when reality matters. Very few teams rebuilding get off a huge contract like AD, especially with his red flags, with pure expiring contracts. They will have to take some salary back when considering AD has a $54M contract.
ArthurVandelay wrote:My more optimistic side reminds myself any contract can be traded in the NBA. Jordan Poole was traded with no significant assets given up. Anything is possible.

Wonder if we try to get both

We can’t pay em all

Seems hyperbolic, at least to some extent. 2022 was the last time he played less than 51 games. He's played 56, 76 and 51 so far.
He's definitely a guy who will miss significant time, particularly given age and position, but "even play half of the games" doesn't really square with his trend. He's averaged 61 GP the past 3 seasons, or over 74% of available games.
