He kinda is tho. He literally can’t drive to the basket anymore.

I would not be shocked at all if he starts getting in better shape and starts playing better after the trade deadline. I mean at this point its all we can hope for because his shot falling off a cliff and him being fat has been an anchor on his trade value. He is definitely not playing like an all star.
Thoughts?

Now hes not even good in the regular season but people still won’t drop the act.
Its hard to stomach watching this team with him still in a major role, regardless of W L.
Facts. If lowry was playing in his home town of Philly, NY, LA, or Boston he would have already been called out by their fan base years ago. Lowry has had 1 decent showing in the playoffs since 2015, and it was in the first series with the cavs. Other than that he's been almost irrelevant in playoffs. Norm powell as a 2nd round pick has had a bigger impact in his playoff career than lowry. Now that he's not even good in the regular season anymore he's stealing a living as a max player. I still don't know how anybody in their right state of mind rates lowry in the playoffs.Brandon_Roy wrote:Lowry has somehow been living off regular season heroics on this board since 2015, criticism gets suppressed like he won us a title or something but he was right there with Casey and DD when Raps were swept a handful of times.

Role player or not the fact most people remember guys like norm and JV producing in the playoffs, and not lowry says a lot. There's no way you can tell me lowry plays up to the standard thats expected of him in the playoffs. Hell he's not even playing up to his typical, regular season, standards now. He's been a regular season player and now that he's not even that anymore, he's just a regular guy in the league thats grossly overpaid. Like I've said he's stealing a living as a max player. The guy is averaging under 10 points on the season smh What kind of max money player is that. The only thing carrying lowry right now is the fact he's a high IQ player that reads the game very well. Other than that he's pretty much meh, and not someone you can put your faith in when the chips are down. Don't even get me started on the fact he's out of shape and can hardly turn the corner on his man. At least demar had a few big playoff games here. The game can't be said about lowry.Patman wrote:RaptorsNorth wrote:Facts. Yeah, that's false. Norm's contributions are more noticeable because he's a role player. This is like when VC struggled in 2 straight 1st round matchups against the Knicks (he had his coming out party vs. AI's Sixers). Some people said T-Mac made a bigger contribution than Vince in 2000, and JYD/Alvin in 2001. That's not true. Vince was still our best players in both of those Knicks series. He just didn't play as well relative to his regular season stats.

These guys are lucky they don't check body fat in the NBA like they do in European football, or else he wouldn't even be on bench. Those guys don't care if you're a star or not. If you're out of shape and can't perform, you don't play, you don't get named to squad, and that means you don't sit on the bench with the team. Some teams will go as far as having you train by himself until you get into shape. This is why I respect what the Miami heat are doing to keep their players in shape. How long has lowry been here ? How many seasons has he been over weight , now how many season has he been in shape ? That's ridiculous that nobody tells him about it. The raptors need a respected, hard nose coach. Not these guys that allow players like lowry to show up in that state smh He would never do that playing for the heat. The season after he gets his max contract he shows up out of shape smh
