I thought Svi is already a lock which is why I didn't include him. When I say experience I mean the more polished player, one that could step in and provide if we needed him in a emergency injury situation. I like Bonga but he seems very raw would like to see him developed in the g-league for a season or two.
Step in? He has been out of the league 2 years for a reason. Don't forget the ONLY selling point when we signed him (as it was a surprising one) was "he shot 40+% from 3p in Europe". I just cant see where he fits with this team. He cant play ahead 10th/11th man like Yuta and others
Dekker's shooting is nice but I can't see Nurse asking him to be a shot creator in that 15th man role. The defensive footspeed is pretty bad and Bonga/Wainwright being better defenders makes them more plug and play in my opinion. Especially if they can hit the occasional 3 from the corner.
Bonga is a career (albeit just ~130 games) 30% three-point shooter and he's basically just an extra ball handler and solid defender. I think Bonga makes the team as the 14th/15th man if we were lacking in the versatile wing department, but don't we already have enough 6'8" players -- and some that are limited in how they can score -- on our roster? Barnes, OG and Siakam can do 99% of what Bonga brings to the table but better then we have other players like Achiuwa and Banton who have similar strengths and weaknesses as well as players like Boucher and Yuta that would also be ahead of Bonga on the depth chart.
To me, the selling point to keeping Bonga over Dekker (or Wainright for that matter) is simply the difference in age. Dekker and Wainright both give us something (shooting) that we need a lot more than another 6'8" body that isn't a threat on the offensive end.
