Shams knows Klutch Klients...so this sounds legit.

Yeah there's been enough smoke around OG. There's gotta be fire now.

What are they going to offer? I have to imagine they will be offering Cam Johnson and at least a first or two. That means we'll be taking back either Crowder or Saric.

I think New Orleans might be able to give us a better package. The have the Lakers first, Dyson Daniels, Trey Murphy and a salary ballast of Graham to create a package.

IMO, unless we'll be sending Crowder or Saric to another team for additional value, NOLA looks like the better destination.

Shams says that the deal is CamJo, Dario and 2 firsts. That seems fair and it allows us to keep Jae Crowder so we can recoup value that we're giving to you for OG.

when OG has issues with you, you are not him.

I'm not sure what Memphis gives us that makes an OG trade work.

JJJ, Ja and Bane are the only difference makers but they aren't likely available.

Brooks is probably included in a trade but he is up for a new contract and is really inefficient.

Zaire Williams is interesting but he hasn't really shown much potential.

The rest of their prospects like Laravia, Roddy, Aldama are all meh as trade assets.

Would a package of Brooks, Zaire Williams, Jake Laravia and a FRP enough for OG?

I'd say no unless you flipped Brooks, Williams. I like Laravia but Memphis traded up to get him. Looking at their salary structure, they've done a much better job managing their payroll as compared to Raps where we constantly overpay everyone.

I'd immediately flip Crowder to Milwaukee or who ever offers the most seconds or even a crappy first.

I'm leaning that way also. Especially seeing Masai and Jones walking and talking together.

Ya Cam is too old...and as a featured part of a trade...HD is kinda meh.

Mabe the trade is OG and Khem Birch for Ayton and future FRP...?

I’ll be disappointed if the plan is to keep both Fred and pascal. Imo those 2 need to be separated

We continue to discuss not wanting to pay Van Vleet or Trent market salaries next year, potentially $35 mil and $25 mil respectively, but salary considerations are very important. Resigning those 2 at those numbers, while keeping the rest of the roster the same, puts us well into the tax next year (by, very roughly, $10 mil). I believe we can all agree that we are NOT going to be taxpayers next year, so something has to give, quite aside from the basketball considerations at play.

We could decline Thad's option, and replace him with a minimum player, but we'd still be about $5 mil into tax territory. Trading OG for young, cheap prospect(s) and picks, with expirings to make the trade work, could solve the problem. A Trent trade on the same basis would give us more maneuvering room, but, in terms of payroll moving forward, trading Fred would seem to put us in the best spot tax-wise. Many would argue it also puts us in the best position roster-wise as well. Though OG would clearly bring back the best return of the 3, Fred should still fetch a very good haul, and would be my top choice for being moved next week.

damn. guess we won't be seeing the OG-Barnes-Siakam-Precious lineup flying around and shutting teams down. would've been nice now too given Scottie's improvement on D. disappointing but if he's not happy here, which is understandable, gotta get the most for him while his value is still incredibly high. Masai should have the Pelicans at the top of the list. Those young players and their potential look tasty.

I want Marjon Beauchamp from the Bucks.

Any Phoenix trade will be built on their draft picks. Everything else they give us will be filler to make the salaries work.

They may try to pawn Ayton on us but no way they give us Bridges in return. Why trade an elite defensive talent for another elite defensive talent? The whole reason they would want OG is to quickly retool to compete for a championship with Booker, Bridges, Ayton, and OG being the same age.

Gonna be sad if OG gets traded loved him his entire time hear. Him coming in and being an awesome starter in 17-18 coming off a ACL tear was so damn impressive too. And his defense has gotten to such high levels but if he's unhappy here then it's time to move on.

Agreed.

Hopefully we're talking about moving FVV and Siakam too.

Correct, despite all the fanboy type posts, financial reality is that 1 starter must go. Aside from on the court issues. ESPECIALLY, if they get a share of salary cap tax from teams that exceed the cap (I'm not 100% clear on the league rules here). No way MLSE turns down a free $20M.

Well, I wouldn't be taking Ayton so as far as I'm concerned, that's their problem.

please let it be the Suns problem, not ours. both will be lowered in the pecking order - both possibly to the bench.

We'll see. I think CamJo is a great add to your team as he'll open things up. The Knicks would only be offering some of those weird protected picks they have. I don't think they're offering the good picks.

This is an even trade imo. You guys will love Cam Johnson.
