Starting to take aim these small forwards - Barnes, Perry, Terrence, even Vasely - as there's a better chance that we'll end up with one of them than Irving.

Don't forget there's the draft lottery selection. To determine who picks where. We could finish the season and have the 6th or 7th pick but still have a chance to move up into the top 3.

He's not strictly a 4, he can be a 3 thanks to his god-given ball-handling talent, the guy literally has handles like Odom, he's quick, he's very good at handling the ball in transition, able to find his teammates for layups or dunks, . He's also good at passing the ball when being double-teamed, in terms of being a wing defender, he can disrupt their shots because of his long arms, but I don't think he can handle the speedy wing players though. He played pretty good in last night's game because the other team has no one that can guard him so he exploits the mismatches, but if he played against an elite team with elite defenders then he'll completely disappear on offense. Being a 4 he can use his speed for mismatch but don't think he can guard a big man in the post.

Still I would take Perry over Barnes in a heartbeat because Perry can impact the game on both ends (pass the ball well, grab rebounds, block shots), even though Barnes is struggling now but from what I heard Barnes has a very outstanding work ethic. Heard that he had a solid performance in the team scrimmage but he wasn't happy with his shots so he returned to the gym immediately after the scrimmage, to practice his jump shots all day all night. I think soon or later he'll improve exponentially.

Like the wizards and sixers, that would be sweet if we could do the same. How about the miami cheat's pick, think we can get someone like a jacob pullen with the ...30-ish range

Well if the Heat play around .600 ball for the rest of the season their pick will be closer to the low twenties. I'd look for a well rounded SF who can rebound, play defense and knock down the open three.

I'd really really try and move up for perry jones. If not, lock the young guns in the gym with Kemba walker and brandon knight and whoever impresses the most is the one you draft. Josh selby name might creep back into that mix when he becomes eligble too. I like walkers scoring explosiveness tho, he's got too much heart. Anyone can find out his wingspan.

I think people are writing off Barnes way too soon. UNC's offense looks like a mess since they can't run a damn thing in the half-court. Give Barnes some time to adjust.

That being said, Irving still looks like the best fit for this team.

Not a lot of teams in front of us actually need PGs. We should try to swap picks and draft Irving IMO

Irving is the guy that fits this team the best right now. I wouldn't be surprised if BC tries to packages our pick (if we don't get selected into the top 3) with a player or players for the 3rd pick.

I don't know how much value the Miami pick and our 2nd rounder have, but I'd give up bunch of draft picks for Irving.

Have you seen him play? He has no court vision. He's strictly a scorer at this point. Did you like his 8 turnovers and 0 assist game?

I think if we can finish with the 4th worst record we'll still have a good shot at a top 3 pick. In every draft someone moves up and someone falls in the lottery. And there's always one player who surprises everyone in workouts and increases the likelihood of a prized pick slipping a couple slots.

Exactly. If this team finishes with a bottom 5 record then I like our chances at a high pick. Obviously the worst record gives you the best odds, but a bottom 5 record is good enough.

Not the Miami our lottery pick for a higher pick.

Funny thing is the team with the worst record has a higher chance of falling to the 4th pick in the draft

That's what I'm saying. And we've seen the team with the worst record fall a couple picks many times in the past. I'd be cool with us finishing dead last, but it might not be the best thing for some of the gusy currently on the team who'll be with us for several years. I imagine it's pretty heart breaking to lose that much at something you love doing. Some guys might have the mentality to make sure it never happens again, but you never know how fragile someone's ego really is. The young core might lose a lot of their confidence.

I'm not sure about "higher chance" because probability/odds say otherwise but yes, that's happened more often than not recently.

At the end of the day though you can't really argue with the odds. The worst record gives you the best shot at the best pick, what happens after that is just dumb luck.

This guy literally goes 1 on 3 or 1 on 4 mode every damn time and the only guy he passes to is TJ, no one else. If we have this guy on our team, oh boy who's gonna run our team?

if we dont get Irving, how does your draft board look?

1. Kyrie Irving
2.Kemba Walker? he is really impressing this year.
3.Brandon Knight?
4. Josh Selby?

I don't think we've seen the best of Knight and Selby hasn't even played yet so i'd hold off on the PG depth chart.

Irving is clearly #1 by a country mile though.

If we don't draft Irving and Terrence Jones is available, we pick him.
