Lithuania won the NBA Championship. Good for them!

I think he had something around 23 points on 6 or 7 shots and about 8 rebounds in just over 22 minutes. No official stats available yet.

He can be a poor-man's Kirilenko in the NBA, but he is probably destined for a career in Europe considering how badly he was treated in Washington. He was given 11 mins per game as a 22 year-old lottery pick. Terrible management on a terrible team has likely killed Jan's interest in an NBA career.

It was a terrible idea making him into a 4. They drafted SF with no perimeter skills thinking they will put him out of position and everything will be fine... His only identity was perimeter defense. And they destroyed it. He wasn't able to play 4 for a second, he had no chance whatsoever succeeding as PF.

I guess I disagree with your idea to keep him as a three man. You yourself say he has no perimeter skills, so you then have to look at how he can create a mismatch. Making him a four makes him more likely to drive by his man in face-up situations, plus he can just hone in his pick and pop game as a mid range shooter. He is like 6-11 and still got a frame that can add weight to it. I don't think he will be a starter, but he could be a decent back-up.

He didn't have John Wall for most of last season, but you have to like him as a fit as an athletic big who can run the wings with Wall. I still think there is room for him on a running team. He is still the Dunking Ninja aka Airwolf, after all.

He was a mismatch as SF already. No matter how bad of the small forward he was, he was way worse at PF. Well, he wasn't PF at all, but thats because he was absolutely incapable of doing that even in Europe. They put him at PF and he became useless, a complete defensive liability, fouling machine with no offensive skills whatsoever.

As SF, he at least was a decent defender. Thats the only reason he played on relatively high caliber team to begin with.
I know there were doubters who said he couldn't defend NBA wings, but I am pretty sure he could. I saw him shutting down guards in Europe, he was able to stay in front of 6'2 shooting guards. Think about that mismatch.
He couldn't handle the ball and had a terrible shot, but his 3 point wasn't non existent. He was career 30.3% from 3 in EL.
He had potential to be taller, athletic Battier or smth. Instead they forced him into position he just couldn't play.

For those who care.. through 7 exhibition games, Jonas is averaging:
15ppg
9rpg
1.3bpg
2.6TOpg
70%FG (6.7FGA)
67%FT (8.6FTA)
20mpg

Per 30, that's 22.7ppg, 13.5rpg, 1.9bpg, 3.9TOpg

This man is way too efficient..

Actually our point guards should be paying attention. They can make a nice career year for themselves out of all the assists they can collect.

More than stats, it's the fact that he's already asserting himself as the go-to guy on the national team at 21. Also, his ability to draw fouls will be one of his best traits.

Actually, Dwane Casey should be paying attention. He can look good by playing Jonas more than Aaron Gray.
