Opening night was fun to watch. I sat down and just wanted to see effort, which we got. As the game went on, I had a hard time not smiling... that's my team for my entire life, afterall! With that said, they shot (especially from 3) well above what I think will be their norm, and Denver looked disinterested (other than late-game frustration). Over the last couple years, we've seen a number of times when the Jazz played down to the level of a team they were much more talented then, and we may see Utah win a handful of games simply because other teams overlook them. Happy to see them out there playing hard and enjoying the game, happy to see the arena full & rockin'.

Something to keep in mind is, the organization is tanking by having a limited roster, but that doesn't mean the players and coaches aren't playing to win (as it should be). We will see some Ups, like last night, but overall it's going to be a lot of L's, and that's ok for the long-term outlook of the team. I know they'll have my support, no matter what. :)

(I'm turned off by so many "fans" who are haters online. People who are clearly casual fans who don't understand anything about the team's direction, are full of "Ainge Hate", and are living in the past ... the "Good ol' days".)

What would be hilarious is if the Jazz win every time they wear the "tradional" purple uniforms, but lose every game they wear the new yellow/black jerseys.

Based on what, that they wouldn't have won the first game of the season?
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

Markkenen and Sexton are much better than the players we would have received from the Knicks. They are going to contribute to winning games this year, which is contrary to our acquiring picks/tanking to obtain one or two superstars from the future drafts. Unfortunately, Markk and Sexton would make great teammates with a superstar or two, but aren't stars themselves.

In the first game alone, Markk and Sexton combined for 37 pts, 9 rbs and 6 asts.
In the first games, the trio of Fournier, Toppin, and Quickley (Grimes is injured) combined for 16 pts, 10 rbs and 4 asts. Odds are we would have lost the game with this combo of players.

More than likely, the Cavs will win more games with DM than the Knicks would have. I believe it would have been questionable if the Knicks would have even made the playoff after acquiring DM for some combination of Fournier, Toppin, Quickly and/or Grimes. Cleveland will most likely be making the playoffs with DM. So, we might have obtained an extra swap or even a pick, but they will most likely not be as valuable. I think the negotiations got emotional, which ended up hurting the Jazz.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Beasley, Clarkson and THT shot 5/28 tonight. I'd say we're in business!

I love it how the two threads of 'The Tank is On!' and 'We're Too Good To Tank, Dammit' are right next to each other. It's funny.

The Spurs won again and so did the Pacers. And even the Magic finally got their first win. The only win-less teams now are the Kings and the Lakers.

Crazy we lost 3 games straight and we're tanking again, yet Cavs lost 6 straight and still looked at top 4 in the east. Yeah we're going to have some bumpy roads ahead like each team but bottom line we need Laura to get more shots up each game. If the Finnisher can play off what the D is doing, Small guy post up or just shoot over and bigger player run more cuts to the rim and run more to open spots. Our guards need to move the ball around little bit more and put more pressure on the defense and make other teams work much harder. One on one is only going to lead to more losses. We don't have a player who can go one on one and carry us to wins, Team ball is our only hope. Plus I hate watching slow play one on one. We had him and traded it away. Keep it out of Utah now.

The Jazz' diabolical plan to tank: 1. Waive the only backup point guard on the team. 2. Play Mike Conley in back to back games until he get hurts. 3. Feign surprise at discovering that the Jazz don't have a backup point guard. 4. Lose all the games.

Frankly, there's any motivation to watch the remainder of games this season... we're going to suck.

I know, I know, the future will be better if we do it... but October looks so far away.

The West is no longer wide open, several teams became better. If the Jazz would have stood pat, they would have most likely been a play in game team.
