I hated any potential matchup with Denver in the playoffs, but if both guys are playing well at the same time, Denver would be in big trouble. It will be interesting to see how the season winds down. First it looked like 50+ wins was a lock. Then 50 games was a long shot. Now it’s a possibility again :dontknow:

Note about Burton: I like the energy and defense he brings off the bench, but he can be a gunner at times. He’s never seen a shot he hasn’t liked yet. Sometimes thats good on drives....other times..

Imagine if Denis played well as well as those two?! RINNNGZZZZZ ERNEH

This was a good win imo. They came out all sorts of flat and looked confused, but sorted it out to start the 2nd half and got their job done.

Sadly, i think the only reason why we saw Burton is cause of Morris injurie. Once when Morris gets back, Burton's going back to the doghouse.

Neither him nor Nader should be part of a Playoff team's rotation.

And yes, burton has consistently been impactful when given a chance. Makes 0 sense what they've done with him.

Ha. Made it the year before they traded him. At least they kept perk and blindly handed him minutes despite him not deserving a single minute of run.

And I'll take the silence on my question as a no. Seriously, like, you regulars who "know what youre watching" should at least consider opposing viewpoints from this board's consensus before automatically disagreeing with everything I say.........wasnt making it up, look beyond lineup data occasionally and watch

I kind of wish we had got the other second round pick from Brooklyn instead of Diallo. He wasn’t great last night but he’s been solid and will be a nice player.

Adams is as fast as you could want a 7ft ball of muscle. His potitioning is usually great and while he's no all NBA first team, he is in the top half of defensive Centers. Probably close to top 10. Not sure what more you expect of him to be honest. He is the least of our worries.

I don't want a 7ft ball of muscle for 25 mill a year. That was suited for the 1980s and 1990s. While Adams is no stiff, he's pretty slow for today's game, which is more about defending the pick and roll and recovering, and helping on and discouraging drives. His positioning isn't what it's made out to be, he often over helps and is too slow to recover to his man/the lane, or takes bad angles when he does help as guards go by him for layups. He doesn't bother many of their shots. His second jump on the defensive glass is pretty bad, and he also has a tendency to stay flat footed and attached to the guy he's guarding if he's near the basket rather than impact drives with any help, as he's just too slow.

I could see not being sure what I expect of him if he were making 12-15 mil. But he's paid like an all star. He's not consistent, teams attack his lack of speed all the time, he is limited in his post moves, and mainly relies on others, particularly Westbrook, to create his offense. His range is about 10 feet, and he cant hit FTs. He doesn't create offense for others outside his offensive rebounding, which is great, but he doesn't consistently draw a double team on the catch. It's one of the teams main issues, in that they only have 3 guys that can create a play- Westbrook, george, and schroeder. 4 if you count grant. I want a guy making 25 mil to consistently be able to do that as well. He doesn't really.

I'm not saying he's terrible. He's probably a top 12-15 center most nights. Some nights he's badly outplayed by guys like jarrett Allen or Jonah Bolden. I want more than that for 25 mil a season and think that's fair. The guy gets a pass like he's a role player, but is paid to be a star. He wears down every year and just isn't that. Very similar to Otto porter, Hassan Whiteside, and Harrison Barnes. They aren't bad players, but aren't what they are paid to be.

Adams doesn't get a pass on this board. He's had plenty of critics for a while. Go back and read the Rockets playoff thread from two years ago. When he was playing well earlier in the season, the argument from most at that time was that he is finally worth his contract. The contract has always been questionable at best.

Looks like a lot of centers are overpaid
https://www.spotrac.com/nba/rankings/2019/cap-hit/center/

Not many on that list worth the money they are on. Capella is a bargain if he stays healthy. Gobert I tihnk is about right.

But its an interesting list and shows that Big Men still get PAID
