Considering he's a rookie, I think it would be more surprising if he didn't do those things to some extent than if he did.

I get the concerns but Giddey is 20 and It's his second year in the NBA. Gotta give him at least one more season before considering a trade or bench role. Shai/Giddey/JDub core is still leading us to a decent record and 10th net rating without a true frontcourt.
