Hope I'm wrong but I don't see us trading Russ this offseason.

At least I hope we trade Grant (for good value obviously)

I mean he wasn’t happy with a team that had George. He’s less likely to be happy now that he’s gone.

No way Presti offered Westbrook to the Raptors without him knowing this. So yeah we know Westbrook wants to leave. Problem is how and where. It's going to be very difficult to trade him right now after having his worst year as a pro since his rookie year (not that I think he's going to be better next year but...)

Russ is still an amazing player despite the fact that the media feeds into a negative narrative about him. I expect there might be more interest in him than people realize, the problem is Russ probably isn't going to want to be in a rebuild he's going to want be in the playoff picture which will make things more difficult.

The more I think about it, the more I love it. Presti just got a massive haul for a guy who has already had a major leg injury and 2 elbow surgeries

It's not so much the fact that there isn't a market for Russ but right now he doesn't really fit in any team plans.

If New York had a star for example, it could be a nice spot. But they don't.
The lakers don't have cap space for him.
Celtics just signed Kemba.

Could Boston use Russ to replace Kyrie?

I hope you're right. I really do.

I was wrong about them getting Horford so my track record isn't great.

I've come to peace with this. I just feel horrible for Russ.

Presti could be able to stand pat in order to go to the playoffs with this current roster

Toronto should have done the deal.

Sure they would have had to take on Westbrook and give up a lot of assets.

But they lose Kawhi for nothing. All those assets they kept won’t come close to Kawhi any time soon.

They would have had Kawhi, PG and WB and if things don’t work out at least KL and PG are on tradeable contracts.

They may still be a 4-8 playoffs seed in the East now. IOW, treadmill.

Knicks make sense they have shooters and they want a star of course we will not get rj barrett , if we trade adams to I say get mitchell robinson and frank , dennis smith or allonzo miami want another star, minnesota want a pg , hornets and mj will love Westbrook put I think trading Westbrook depend od two things Sam and if Westbrook want to stay or not

This deal with the Clips is undoubtedly better than anything Toronto could have given.

I think I just keep Adams and Grant at this point unless you get an offer you can't refuse. You still need to field a roster, and they're both good guys to have around. They're both still young. Adams' lack of shooting won't be as big of a deal with Westbrook gone. They shopped Adams and didn't like what they heard back, so no need to dump him just to dump him. Plus, it's a business, and he'll easily be the face of the franchise in the short term during this process. Gotta sell tickets. If we send Russ out, we'll have money to re-up Grant if we so choose. I'd hold on to him at least until the deadline.

The core at this point, to me, is SGA, Adams, Grant (at least temporarily), and Ferguson. Bazley, Diallo, and Burton are developmental guys. Gallo is a nice player for sure, but that's someone who doesn't fit long term. I'd move him for picks/young players ASAP honestly if a deal is there. Don't want him to get hurt. I could see Schroder getting toxic, but not going to give away assets in a rebuild just to dump him, so we're stuck there. Roberson and Patterson = their way to limit the tax penalties.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think we might be pleasantly surprised with the Westbrook return. I desperately want Coby White in a trade, but any combo of Herro/Bam/Winslow, Knicks picks, Jonathan Isaac + Magic pick, etc. There are deals out there with young players and/or picks I think are possible. But if you trade for SGA and he's your guy, you HAVE to give him the keys day 1. Playing him off ball with high-usage Westbrook would be such a mistake.

I'm definitely excited for the new possibilities. Just please don't go the sustainability route and trade some of this Clippers haul for pieces to go around Russ. It's over. Let's move on.

Gut the roster. Keep Westbrook. Let him chuck us to 30 wins.

Keeping Russ stunts the development of SGA. I would feel differently if we hadn’t traded for a pg. now that shai is here, he needs to start and Russ needs to go.

We did just trade for Gallinari. He’s going to be amazing for 28 games.
