I don't care if the players are bad or overpaid necessarily. I think Wiggins is soft and I don't want him around. And four more years is something I'd prefer to avoid unless no other options are out there.

Soft is nonsense.

I would expect Dragic + Herro + filler whether it be JJ or Waiters + removing the protections off the pick you owe us. Maybe a little more in the way of draft comp but not sure as I have no idea how much teams are willing to give up for him. I'm sure it ranges from something decent to nothing at all. But that's the gist. I don't expect it to be all of Herro, Bam, Winslow, and picks.

They can't trade Herro.

Pretty sure they can in 30 days if he's already signed. Not like they can't agree now and finalize then. If he hasn't signed, can do it now.

Miami won't destroy their front court by trading Bam (and they think he's going to be major stud) and I think Herro is going to be really important for them off the bench. I think everyone else is on the table. They would definitely trade Winslow in a heartbeat if it meant Westbrook.

It would have to include one of herro/bam and reduced protections

If that's the case then it will be Herro. I think Bam is their core piece in terms of young assets. They really love him.

Don't care about the deal but just call Pat Riley and make it happen. I want Russ to be happy and OKC to be clear about what their future will look like :)

I think bigger Conley is a likely scenario.

I could sort of see it. Real big kid. In an earlier era he might have been a SG or even a SF. Pretty shifty with the dribble though and appears able to get to the rim. Nice bounce. Looks like he's got tons of potential on defense given that wingspan.

To be honest, when I watched him play against the Warriors, I wasn't as impressed as Clippers fans, who see a very high ceiling for him, like a perennial all star.

But they've certainly watched more of him than I have and he is very young.

I didn't see explosiveness or shiftiness against the Warriors. Most of the time he tried to force his way into the lane or to the rim, pushing off with his off arm rather than using dribble moves to separate from the defender.

He could push off against smaller guys but not when wings like Klay were on him. He could be crafty against slower big men but a lot of times, he didn't shoot, passed it when his initial move, the push off, was stymied. But it's good that he didn't force shots, which kept up his shooting percentage.

Honestly, I thought of a more slender, younger Jarret Jack.

I think he'll be a good player but don't see being an all star multiple times. But he is very young so he could develop more, grow more.

miami's cap situation makes it difficult to build a trade involving winslow. johnson + dragic gets close to westbrook's salary on its own but not close enough. miami would need to finish the trade below the apron if it occurs after the butler sign and trade is complete, no?

if herro were off the table, i'm not sure there's a trade that makes sense. okc can't exactly take back unlimited # of players back for westbrook, either. i suppose i would do dragic + winslow + johnson for westbrook + roberson? with the protections removed on the pick miami owes. this is almost equal salaries both ways. i'm not even sure i like it.

As I proposed in the Miami subforum, we could look into a Westbrook+Grant trade in order to get more value in return. They could use a player like Grant that is a bit underpaid with their lack of depth and having to take Westbrook big salary.

Based on what we’ve discussed I like the Minny trade options better than Miami. I wouldn’t be surprised if wherever Russ ends up it takes multiple teams to complete the deal.

if grant were included i would for sure want herro in return. westbrook + grant = ~$48m. you'd have to come close to matching that outgoing to make it viable for us and miami.

They can't trade Hero from what I understood. Could do Westbrook + Grant for Dragic/Winslow/Johnson and picks

Not sure how many picks Miami has though :(

why can't they trade him? if they signed him to rookie scale already they can trade him after 30 days. otherwise they can trade his rights. if it's the former, just agree to the trade in principle and consummate in august.

Who is the best prospect between okogie, culver, hero and bam?

I honestly don't get why so many of you are pissed.

WTF did we have to look forward to with this core of players and with our cap situation?

Basically more of the same. 45-48 win seasons, 6th - 8th seed, and 1st round exit. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

F' that ****.

I'm glad they're pulling the plug on this experiment. This franchise has been stuck in mud for 3+ years and there was no significant signs of improvement. Unless you're one of those homers who was banking on Andre Roberson's return somehow catapulting this franchise into a contender.

And BTW, I hope we keep Billy Donovan around at least for one more year. Gotta make sure we get that good lottery pick.

We don't need Presti bringing in a competent coach now, winning games we have no business winning and ruining out chance at a top 5 lottery pick. Just stick with Donovan's incompetent ass for one more year in order to improve our draft odds.
