i disagree with your assessment. i think getting under the tax with a westbrook deal is one of the primary motivators, that and clearing as much of his future salary as possible. getting a useful player or prospects is 3rd priority. brian windhorst reported earlier saying they want to get out of the tax with a deal, which is why a third team may be involved, and that could be the hold-up.
