Its not like Spain doesn't have a history of racism against athletes of other races.
I mean the Lewis Hamilton thing was just a misunderstanding. Luis Aragones was misquoted I'm sure. And those banana's and monkey chants at the England / Spain game were all in fun.
Samuel Eto', Carlos Kameni, and Roberto Carlos are just a bunch of whiners who don't understand spanish affection I guess.
Nobody threw bananas. Urban legend. Get your facts straight.
The Aragones and Hamilton affairs, (who were blown out of proportions BTW) are blatantly and isolated cases of racism. We condemn them. No excuses.
Eto'o and Kameni are still playing on our 40 million racist country... Henry signed on Barcelona... I mean... do the math
Carlos Ferreira Núñez is secretary general of the Coalición Española contra el Racismo (CECRA), the Spanish Coalition Against Racism. ‘It was the whole stadium’, he says. ‘Most of the crowd was middle class, even upper class. Even the VIP section was monkey-chanting.’
Totally blown out of proportion.
