I didn't look into it beforehand, but his MVP in 2007 was 8.9 rpg. Not bad at all for a 4.

It’s a little more than 1 rebound for every 2 FGA spent, which isn’t a great conversion rate for one of the power positions.

True, but there aren't a ton of high-level guys at the 4 with any better rate. You're likely looking for a lower-tier PF to have a better rate, something like 8 rpg to 13 FGA or so.

I'd actually say most starting power forwards in this game have a better rate than that.

Tier A:Spoiler:
Tier B:Spoiler:
So the top tier guys have a similar rate, and there are about half of the next tier who have a better ratio than I said previously. Obviously there is also the one notable exception, but he has a stupidly high ratio.

With player 1 you're being disingenuous by choosing a season where they have a relatively poor rate compared to the seasons one would actually choose. And even that season isn't "about the same". Player 2 has better years too, but it's not nearly as egregious.
After seeing that I didn't bother checking the rest of your list.

I didn't pick the season for these players based on their best FGA/RPG rate. I picked their best season/most commonly used season. Player 1 was MVP in the season I chose. Sure, you can take 1987 year for 14.6 RPG and 13.8 FGA, but wouldn't you rather have his MVP year? Wasn't being disingenuous. I picked their best/most commonly used season.
