Alrighty lets do this.
The team I've built is an extremely strong defensive team. Four of my five starters are All Defensive level, and my final (Ray Allen) was at least average in his prime, with a lot more athleticism than people who only remember his Celtic/Heat days might assume. Chris Paul and Dyson Daniels are both elite on-ball defenders. Jones and Avdija are both versatile wing defenders who can defend multiple positions. KG is the best defender in this series by a country mile, and will make life difficult for roddy's team with his size, versatility and seeming ability to be everywhere at once. And Sheed is a defensive stalwart as well.
We're extremely potent offensively too. I'd go so far as to call CP3/KG/Ray a perfect offensive trio. I don't use perfection lightly, but CP3 is one of the greatest P/R ball handlers and overall distributors in NBA history. The CP3 lead Clippers had the best offense in the league for two straight years (including one of the years I've selected). They had a better offensive rating without any other regular rotation players who were drafted in this game. And I've replaced his two primary scoring options (Blake Griffin and JJ Redick) with Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. Kevin Garnett is one of the greatest roll-men in NBA history- an elite finisher with a midrange jumpshot to match. Ray Allen can do everything Redick did, but dialed up to 11, and since this is prime Ray Allen he also has very strong athleticism and shot creation ability. He's a terrific all-round shooting guard in addition to his off-ball abilities in Milwaukee. Rasheed Wallace plays a supporting role perfectly here. He spreads the floor and also offers some nice post skills and passing. Herb Jones was very good at hitting the corner three in the chosen season, and that's about all he'll be asked to do. Avdija isn't utilized much in these games but he's a terrific 6th man who averaged 17 ppg in the chosen season on amazing efficiency. In addition to his defensive ability he does a bit of everything on offense, and as such is an ideal 6th man for this team.
Matchup-wise, backcourt defense is a noteworthy weakness for Roddy's team, and of course Jokic will always put at least a bit of a defensive ceiling on a team. I don't think the combination of Jokic and a poor defensive backcourt bodes particularly well for this teams pick and roll defense, even with the improvements Jokic has made on that end. I assume he'll slide Paul George onto Ray Allen, but that still leaves Murray on my most important offensive player, Chris Paul.
It's important to note that roddy unfortunately could not afford prime AK47, so he gets a post-injury version who's definitely still a worthy starter due to his defense and fit with Jokic, but not the offensive threat that pre-2005 AK would have been. That plays to my strengths with Wallace/KG as Jokic defenders- I think KG's help defense will be key here.
Overall I think my team is more balanced and has enough to carry the day here.
