They both play very fast and like to push the ball, and honesty some of his turnovers reminded of the way Gil turns the ball over. I think Wall has better court vision and is a better defensive player though. I think Gilbert will be able to teach Wall alot on the offensive end and maybe Wall will make GA a better defensive player.
I think Gil is going to have to sacrafice alot, because I can already see that Wall is going to be a heavily ball dominant guard in the mold of D-Wade or Chris Paul.
I agree and I'm one who has been strongly in the gotta keep Gil camp... After last night that campfire has faded quite a bit.
Wall is ball dominant and should be. His handles and ability to push the court are first rate. He needs to be the second (or first) man to touch the ball on each possession... And thus needs to be surrounded by low ball dependent players (Ray Allen types and post players that can dive to the hole and finish.
I just can't picture Gil remaking his game to that extent.
Don't get me wrong. I love the guy. I've been a wiz-Boulez die hard for 40 years and Gil is one of my all time favorites... And I believe the franchise and us fans owe him a debt of gratitude. He made watching the wiz fun after two full decades of drudgery.
However, I just don't see the fit. Gil needs the ball to do what he does.
