Wait, your a Blazers fan, you're supposedly one of the teams who would be reasonably interested in acquiring Arenas right?

Is this the first ever recorded instance of a wizard fan trolling his own board?

That's like saying if I was a writer, I'd be a poor man's Ernest Hemingway. He can't handle, shoot, score, pass or has the IQ of LeBron. And he's a tweener. Other than that, they are twins. :D

Hmm, when I said he doesn't have the passing ability, I don't think I inferrred he couldn't handle, shoot or score. And very few SFs have the basketball IQ of Lebron. Booker seemed to handle, shoot and score just fine. Again, I don't think Booker is a prototype SF, but I'd be really shocked if he doesn't end up there more than he does at PF. We might even see Booker starting at SF, depending on we eventually get.

Regarding the debate on whether John Wall is a pure PG or not, I think its a bit silly to typecast a guy with one season in college and one game in summer league. I'm guessing Wall is going to be far more of a pure PG than Arenas ever was. But if he ends up looking for his shot more than Magic or Stockton, I'm OK with that. What he must do is find a comfortable balance between looking for his own shot (while garnering decent percentages) and distributing it to others.

Shanghai Kid wrote:What was crazy was how much Wall reminds me of Gilbert on the offensive end. They both play very fast and like to push the ball, and honesty some of his turnovers reminded of the way Gil turns the ball over. I think Wall has better court vision and is a better defensive player though. I think Gilbert will be able to teach Wall alot on the offensive end and maybe Wall will make GA a better defensive player.

I think Gil is going to have to sacrafice alot, because I can already see that Wall is going to be a heavily ball dominant guard in the mold of D-Wade or Chris Paul.

I agree and I'm one who has been strongly in the gotta keep Gil camp... After last night that campfire has faded quite a bit.

Wall is ball dominant and should be. His handles and ability to push the court are first rate. He needs to be the second (or first) man to touch the ball on each possession... And thus needs to be surrounded by low ball dependent players (Ray Allen types and post players that can dive to the hole and finish.

I just can't picture Gil remaking his game to that extent.

Don't get me wrong. I love the guy. I've been a wiz-Boulez die hard for 40 years and Gil is one of my all time favorites... And I believe the franchise and us fans owe him a debt of gratitude. He made watching the wiz fun after two full decades of drudgery.

However, I just don't see the fit. Gil needs the ball to do what he does.

Agreed. We should wait until after the second game of summer league and then cast judgment.

Just as long as we're deliberative in our judgement "during" the second game. No decisions prior to 2 minutes in the 4th quarter.

I talked the most stuff about Wall not being a pure PG. Even I'm sorry I brought it up.

He's 19 years old and already it's obvious he is going to be a great player. I'm very happy with him now. I'm sorry I hated on him in the first place. As soon as he slows down and lets the game come to him the guy's going to be spectacular.

Maybe it will be just fine that he's the first John Wall. Right now I'd say he's a potentially Gary Payton meets Dwyane Wade. Seems like an explosive scorer, but a PG. He's definitely more PG than SG.

What's great is that it is very, very, very early with him. I recall Russell Westbrook having some really rough games early on. So will Wall.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.
