His rookie #s are pretty much on par with Derrick Rose and Chris Paul and actually better than Deron Williams's(and Williams played college ball for three years).

I agree that you can compare Rose and Williams as rookies with Wall.

However Paul had one of the best seasons ever for a rookie guard. Paul is one of 5 rookie guards to have a PER over 20 in over 1200 minutes. Paul did not have the turnover issues that most rookie PGs have. Although his raw shooting and scoring do not jump out. He got to the line and was ridiculously efficient when he did. The Hornets also improved by 20 wins the year they got Paul(the breakout season for West also contributed).

The good news about Wall is that he shot his jumpers without hesitating and showed better effort defensively. Positive signs but they don't really put him in the POTG conversation.

Wall came in with very high expectations. He is meeting them, but not blowing them away. I think he will start to get more love when he has a stronger supporting cast.

He is pretty clearly as a rookie the best player in the draft. However he also has the limitations(not great shooting, turnovers and lapses on defense).

This game was roughly in line with Wall's numbers for the season.

I'm in around this view. I think some posters just had some Wall burn out. His D was so bad that it was hard to watch him at times. Now his D is looking a lot better but they hadnt been winning so what was to get high about.

But what I find more interesting is that his assists have gone down a lot. He was getting 10 in the first quarter and now he has gone 7, 5, 6, and 6 over the last 4 games.

But Dray and Kirks assists are up.

Is the team passing more instead of catching a Wall pass and just shooting ?

Wall hasnt gone this many games in a row with so few assists all season. Something is different.
I also see his FG % is up and so are his rebounds. Add that to his better D and this could be interesting.

Wall is shooting 47% from the field in the last 5 games. Plus his defense has improved quite a bit. Things are looking up for the young man.

I voted for Nick Young, though I think you could make a good case for Cartier Martin.
