Can we stop acting like Troy Brown didn't get benched for Isaac Bonga? I think everyone's excited he's been playing better the past couple weeks but the criticism wasn't out of thin air.
Yeah it was. Pretty much. You invented it.
Because, you know, after all... Troy gets almost 30% more defensive boards than an average NBA wing. & he gets more than twice as many offensive boards as an average wing. Oh, and 35% more assists. While turning the ball over a little less than average. & getting 70% more steals. & committing @27% fewer fouls -- while playing solid defense.
But, what does all that mean, right? After all, per 40 minutes the 20 year old Troy Brown, just having passed his first 1000 minutes in the league, scores 2.5 fewer points than an average NBA wing. Posting a TS% that is 2 percentage points below average.
What a bum, huh? I mean... a lot of people could miss that. Or be distracted by those other meaningless numbers. So it's good to have an expert around who can see how bad Troy has played. After all: what do numbers mean anyway? Especially compared to what your eye test delivers. You know... that he's tentative dribbling or something like that. Right?
