Our defense is spectacular. We're not going anywhere with a defense like this. I wish they got back to playing the D they played earlier in the season.

33-16, good riddance.

Time to Tivo and do some housecleaning. Just one loss...

Man, this turned ugly fast. As I said, it's a shame Yao isn't playing. Now, Houston is all perimeter, and we don't defend that too well.

EDIT: It doesn't help matters that our offense has been historically bad tonight, either.

Let's work it into Haywood as long as Mutombo is sitting.

nate33 wrote:So far, I don't really have many complaints about the Wizards' game. They're not playing particularly stupid or lackadaisical. They just aren't playing well and they ran into a fresh Mutombo who hasn't played much this season.

Let's see how this plays out. The game isn't over yet.

Yeah, our effort on the glass is great as is our covering of their 3-point shooters. Offensively, 7/34 from the field. We aren't doing anything particularly well tonight.

Can we get it down under double figures by half......maybe a better 3rd qtr....and a tight 4th qtr finish.

Haywood got fouled on that move, prior to the block.

7 steals, 6 offensive boards. Those are signs that the effort is there. We just haven't figured out their defense. It's like they have 6 players out there. They're absolutely stifling.

This is hilarious. You are crazy Phil. Houston deserves little to none credit. The Wiz don't care about this one. They are just holding on to the ball until the shot clock winds down and then jacking up shots.

The Wizards are now shooting 17% from the floor over 20 minutes of action. I wonder what the record is for lowest shooting percentage in a half?

Anything to get this offense going.

Are you really surprised. I mean, really ?

Very, very impressed with the Houston defense tonight. Washington is missing a ton of shots, obviously, but the Rockets are denying passes, chasing players all over the court and thru every screen, contesting every shot with a hand in the face. It is -- easily -- the most impressive defensive performance I've seen by any team in the NBA this year. Washington's shooting isn't helping matters, but Houston is doing its part and then some.

Do they always play such great defense? I don't have the opportunity to watch them very often, but this is just an awesome display.

I know we're not supposed to give credit to the opponent -- every missed shot is further evidence of complete moral and intellectual failure of the head coach -- but these Rockets look pretty focused to me.
Satan is happy with your progress.
