Right... What's the benefit? Who gets released? So that we can enjoy the end-of-career phase of Shumpert?

Gotta love this statline:
3-10 from the field, 4 fouls and 5 turnovers so far.
Jaxon Hayes is nasty, he would have been a good fit with Trae Young
Great athlete - Hayes could become a real good once he adds more strength and focuses more on the defensive boards. He's an excellent offensive rebounder but a terrible defensive rebounder. Looking forward to seeing that team with Zion... next season.

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves - Part 7
The Utah Jazz have agreed to trade guard Dante Exum and two second-round picks to the Cleveland Cavaliers for guard Jordan Clarkson, league sources told ESPN.
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/28362393/sources-jazz-agree-deal-dante-exum-picks-cavaliers-jordan-clarkson
Was completely unfamiliar with Exum when he was first drafted, and really didn't understand them resigning him. Not sure what Cleveland will get out of him, but Utah at least gets somebody that can give them consistent minutes with Conley out.
I gotta think there's pressure on the Jazz to actually make some noice this year. They were the next big thing a few seasons ago, but have since been passed by Denver and now Dallas with Doncic. Let's see if Clarkson helps them stay afloat, and then maybe go on a run when Conley gets back.

This is one of the strangest trades ive seen in a while. Crab has little to no value and you would assume Jeff T would have some value. This is an oddball lateral move.i guess crab can spot up and shoot 3s and I guess Jeff will be a good back up for young at this point. And the wolfs get a spot open .

Minnesota creates an open roster spot that could be useful in bigger trades before the Feb. 6 deadline.
The Hawks have been scouring the marketplace for a backup point guard to ease the burden of Trae Young. The Hawks have an offensive rating of 108.2 with Young on the floor, and 90.7 off it.
Teague and Crabbe are on expiring contracts. Teague, 31, played the first seven years of his career with Atlanta.

Crabbe's been traded a bunch of times. Yesterday makes the fifth time he's been traded. EDITED: Technically, the first was a pre-draft trade and the second was a draft day trade. So, this is his third trade.

One of those trades that ignore market value and just swap stuff

Solid move for Portland. Imo they get some young talent to replace the course of toliver and ariza should be an upgrade over Kent at this point.

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves - Part 7
At the beginning of the season, I said Memphis could be a playoff team NEXT season, and a couple of posters said I was jumping the gun. Well, they're .500 now and are 2.5 games ahead of San Antonio for the 8th seed in the West. Dillon Brooks has been a find for them.
Lol at the Knicks for thinking it was appropriate to start a brawl because Jae Crowder took a 3 with 48 seconds left. Shocking that one of the Morris twins was involved.

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves - Part 7
You said this season, not next season, Ruz. It still might happen, too, as the bottom of the west has cratered this season and 8th is totally up for grabs. But you definitely said this season before backing off when those other posters pushed you on the issue and suggesting maybe it'd be a tad longer.
Bucket! Bucket!

I was noticing Memphis in the playoff hunt as-well, they really did a great job on the talent front.

I'd be bragging more if I said this season, so I'm not gonna bother look it up.

That's fine against OKC who doesn't have a big physical PF to guard him but he would get abused by the many teams that have those.

The heat might get Gallo and Iggy and the only real piece they are giving up is Winslow. Holly **** ! I think they are giving a future first and unprotecting that pick owed to OKC to make it all work. Man if they can pull this off they might just have enough in the tank to take it to the bucks after all .

I think Miami screwed up giving Iggy 2 years totaling 30 mil. He's 36 years old and doesn't score. Yeah, he's been a great defender, but at his age, he's bound to lose a step or 2 at any time.

Philly just got Glenn Robinson & Alec Burks for 3 R2 picks. I think those are 2 quite under-rated players. Good for them.
But... bad for us! Why? B/c Elton Brand under-values R2 picks, & I'd been hoping he'd be there to sell us an extra one every year until he gets fired!

It's really only a 1-year deal. The 2nd year is a team option which the Heat will surely decline.

Yeah. McRae to Philly for a 2nd would have made so much sense. That said, the three 2nds Golden State got were terrible. 2nd rounders lower than the 45th pick or so are all but worthless.

Anyone have Marial Shayok on their board last year? 54th pick
