right... Even though I have listed a says the 4th in this little group of players I think we're considering. I'd still be pretty happy with having him as a player. Whoever we draft is going to be light years better than tiddy, nsj, bouk and kai

Good for us Ace is better.

This will be Scoot vs Miller all over again.

How would it be Scoot vs Miller? I think a majority of people are perfectly fine with Ace if VJ is off the board. I’m actually fine with 3 or 4 other people.

I'm fine with VJ as well, but I think Ace is going to be better.

I thought the feeling around the board that VJ was the most popular pick for us?

Read on Twitter

vj Already worked out for the Sixers and Tyrese Maxey was there for dinner

Another comment on the Sixers board had mentioned that someone associated with the Bahamas team said that V J was only planning to work out for the Sixers. Not sure I'm buying that Especially not Without a real legit source.

He probably is but drafting Ace or even Kon in my eyes would hardly be devastating to me. Maluach is a different story.

you're probably right on him being the "popular" pick, but i have him half a hair ahead of Ace and would not be upset at all if we took either.
so yeah, a few of us might have him as our first choice, but not as a "we must take him or I will cry" type of pick. its more of a if I HAVE to rank them, he's probably my leader.

Maybe he falls to us after all. Seems like a fair look and it made him out to be more limited than I expected. Hmm.

Feels like this is a common theme, but a few of us have been saying offensively he is overrated for some time.
Still like him and would much rather have him at 4 then some of the names getting floated.

Great work up on VJ. Then it hit me after all the analysis I’ve been reading about VJ; he really reminds me of a former Hornet. I looked up his college stats, pictured his strengths and weaknesses, and now I ask all of you….is VJ’s comp Kendall Gill? Very similar in size, both good athletes, good defensive players who could shoot but also struggled a bit with their handle, turnovers and consistency with the 3. Gill certainly was an impactful player, and hit his peak performance during his second season as a Hornet, averaging 20 PPG, but it went down from there until he was traded. Gill wasn’t a very effective 3pt shooter, and his only league honor was being named to the all rookie team.

Having said that, many are comping VJ to Oladipo. That would be a wonderful result.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

interesting... such different eras. surely gill would be a better 3pt shooter now if the expectation from the time you were 15 was to shoot 3s.
i remember gill having some on ball juice that allowed him to play defacto pg at times, something vj has mentioned, and brought up by jon g. one difference tho... in bonnell's book about 1993 season, he talked about gill being a diva and upset he was 3rd fiddle behind lj and zo, which is why they traded him to sonics for hawkins. i think i remember gill saying later regretted how he acted that year. such a shame that 93 team fell apart too soon. damn you lj back injury

not to pile on Gill, i liked him as a player, but I remember a Nets player commenting on Gill being a bit of a diva type as well. commenting how they got better after he left.

Gill without the diva would be so valuable right now. the physical, athletic defender who isn't a zero on offense is so vital in the playoffs.

also that story of ego killing a team reminds me of the GSW Nelson team. They were my first team to barrack for as I loved Mullin.
Mullin, Webber and Sprewell seem like such a perfect mix offensively, then you could have added Tim Hardaway if it didn't all blow up. How exciting could that team have been. they even added Seikaly so Webber didn't have to play centre which he hated. then it all turned to crap.

typical of me to barrack for that version of GSW and but become a Charlotte fan before the Curry championship days. :sigh:
