Of course the championship is the ultimate end goal but as fans of a small market team we are aware of the difficulties in putting together the poduct to produce such results, I am convinced Charlotte will win a championship before I die althouth that will have to be within a 50 year time frame...Baby steps for a young franchise such as ours and a misstep as Dunlap is proving to be is costly.
2. Dunlap was hired to develop the youth at the expense of losing and some of our players are exceeding expectations this season (Kemba), I honestly do not have a clue how any of that applies to Dunlap as Kemba is actually a much improved version of the EXACT same player he was last season, it's not as if Dunlap has just revamped his game magically, he has got the green light (FO decision) and early in the season his shot was falling.
Everyone else has shown "subtle" improvement and nothing major, I would argue that Mullens in many ways is worse than last season.
3. Our team is much improved over last season, we had no talent last year, at all, Sessions+Gordon+MKG+Adrien+Haywood would beat our team from last season no question. Why should Dunlap get the credit for Cho's genius?
4. Paul Silas wasn't even trying last season and was better than Dunlap, this current team would have 20 wins under Silas imo.
5. The Princeton and the Motion aren't interchangeable ie you couldn't have your team run them at different points in the game due to the difference in restrictions of player movement, screens and cuts, as an example the current "positionless" offense used by the Heat is actually a variant of a Motion as the patterns are repeating through "Instinct" as opposed to "sets" Whenever I ever write Princeton I also/motion as basically that is the same thing depending on restricts and the 4-1 set.
The Princeton is set with repeating patterns thoughout and very structured, ie the ball handler, screener,s spot up shooter and cutter each know basically where each other are meant to be and it has been drilled 5 thousand times, ie The early 2000 Sacto Kings.
5 unathletic guys can beat a superior team through executing these offenses well and having good fundamentals, however, if you get the current Heat to run it you have a Dynasty.
Im reluctant to call Cho a genius.... yet.. Daryl Morey on the other hand did fantastic getting Harden, and got Robinson for a box of cracker jacks.
