He WILL get around the 12th highest salary at his position, then consider Curry is criminally underpaid and Dragic and Lillard will also overtake him by the time his new deal kicks in. I think it's more than fair to pay him like a top 15 PG.

Yeah, the contract is market value, or just slightly above that. I'm not concerned with the cap number for Kemba at all. I am definitely concerned about his lack of improvement though.
@Ball teacher: I don't think we have anyone on the roster that is capable of being a go-to scorer on a reliable basis in crunch time. We've seen how going straight to Alfense in the closing moments has shot us in the foot this season. There is also no clear second scorer who can produce at volume throughout the game the way Al does for us down low. I think this team needs to move towards ball movement and away from a solid pecking order in terms of scoring responsibility. We have nights where Roberts is going off, or Neal, or Cody, or Kemba, or Lance and then the rest look mediocre to bad. We need to ride the hot hand and pound on whatever weakness the other team's defense is showing us.
Maybe someday we'll have a guy who we can just iso for buckets in crunch time, but right now no one can do that on our roster. I think part of our problem late has been our tendency to pigeonhole Alfense back into the mix in tight games even if it wasn't the reason we hung around up to that point. We also have a tendency to force-feed Kemba the ball at crunch time because he's our "clutch" guy. Both of those things are not helping, we need to keep the ball moving and take the best shot available, alpha dog hierarchy crap be damned. Smart teams are moving away from that end game mentality faster by the day. That's just my opinion though.
