Trae at least plays games. The issue with him is he is the worst defender in the league. The Hawks on paper should be just as good as Detroit, but they're playing 4v5 on defense.

A part of me would rather have Ja but trading for him after the Miles stuff is just dumb.

So... Melo better get healthy lol.

If we're moving off Melo due to availability issues Anthony Davis is not a player I would want in return.

But I do genuinely believe that mentally and internally the Hornets are probably ready to go in a different direction, especially with the rookies looking solid. How they go about doing that is the big question. They have been talking about changing the culture for 2 years now. And that to me has always felt a little bit like a dog whistle saying, melo/miles are part of the culture problem from the previous regime.

The rookies looking solid if anything, would be more of a reason to keep Melo. They are all role players for the most part who are going to be valuable right now on rookie contracts, so we should try to win now. Trading Melo and going further in the tank makes little sense because you aren't building around the rookies- they are complementary guys but if they have nobody to complement, then they aren't that valuable.
