Remember that contract that the NBA recently signed with TenCent for the right to air/stream games in China? Here's what Pete Guelli tweeted in response to JLinPortal's tweet about the numbers.

@PeteGuelli There were ~4M Chinese fans watched #Hornets vs Bulls on Tencent Online. Curious if this is a record?

I'm not able to follow the links and technical discussions since it leads to Chinese language sites. But if it pans out, that would mean the new contract between the NBA and TenCent provided 4M live viewers in China of the Hornets game last night on the TenCent streaming service, six times more than the Lakers at second place with only 0.6M viewers. Quite an accomplishment for the Hornets to dwarf the Lakers in overseas viewers (at least on TenCent) considering the huge population and market size disparity between Charlotte and Los Angeles.
