Yeah, that would get me Brooks and Leonard certainly makes sense at 9, but Vucevic goes right after Brooks at 20. Sigh...

I'd like him too. Maybe we can deal for 20 with a player and #39 (if that scenario played out...)?
Here's my line of thinking Bass: Unless something crazy happens and Kanter free falls, there's going to be a glut of third tier guys who I'm personally indifferent about on the board at 9 (Marcus Morris, Singleton, Klay Thompson, Jordan Hamilton, Tristan Thompson, Biyombo, etc)
Houston has been rumored to be wanting to trade up in the lottery. They hold the 14th and 23rd. A few weeks back, I'd suggested offering Jackson and our 19 for Twill and Thabeet so Houston could then package the 19 with their 14 in an effort to move into the 7-10 range. We'd unload jack's contract and Twill/Thabeet would be better than anyone we'd get at 19.
Something like that would still be my preference.
But another option could be offering our #9 and #39 to Houston for their #14 and #23.
This would give us #14, #19 and #23
One of Marcus Morris, Singleton, Klay Thompson, Jordan Hamilton, Tristan Thompson, Biyombo etc who we would have considered at #9 is likely to still be available at the #14. Or, if Marshon Brooks continues to blow people's sox off in workouts (notice a number of mocks now have the Knicks grabbing him as high as #17), we could always take him there provided he reschedules a workout for us and impresses.
We could then take Vucevik at #19 and mop up the BPA at #23 (someone like Dontas or Hamilton could fall and still be on the board).
If so inclined, Charlotte could then, as some have suggested, try to acquire Beasley using Jack. I've never been a big fan of his as he's a defensive liability, a tweener and seems kind of dumb. However, he's a nearly unstoppable 20ppg offensive force, only 22yo and did make great strides in Minny last year. If he continues to develop and we have a good season, we can tender his QA and retain him for the following year. If he misbehaves or flops, we can always just let him walk at the end of the year and still save $10 million from having unloaded jacks deal. We can then target a Barnes or some other SF prospect depending on our lotto position.
