There literally was only Malone that bashed Monk. Monk had a bad season, but he was 19, missed SL and training camp, and was asked to play a new position. It was expected that he would struggle.
He clearly has the talent. He just needs to develop.

I think the Monk hate was more unconditional support of Cliff than intentional hate of Monk. I am not sure the people realized what it came across as when they tried to defend the mistakes he made all year.

This is the sort of petty **** that I hate.
No one has blindly supported Cliff this season. Name a single person that has not said he should be replaced. Or, you know, don't, because tracking viewpoints to scoreboard takes is stupid.
