Steve Clifford is likely in Orlando, so that covers it

Oh, wow. For a minute I had a vision of Cliff being forced to coach Biz as his starting center again.

Great night for Monk. Next year could be really interesting!
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Great stuff from monk tonight. Forget about the points and the red hot shooting from Deep, what I loved tonight was his ball movement. He did not let the ball stick in his hands for long. I'm glad he's starting to realize that he'll still get his shots even if he keeps the ball moving. Promising stuff. Only gripe is I wish it happened against a team that was even remotely trying to put a competitive product on the floor.

Clifford is an idiot. He is so vet driven he has no ability or space to develop young talent. No, Monk wasn’t ready for any significant minutes early on, and frankly shouldn’t have been pegged into being a PG anyway. His skill set is combo guard.

You blend these guys in very gradually as they elevate their awareness and skill set. Ultimately players need minutes to grow.

Can’t stand Clifford for multiple reasons but this is one of them. Good job by Monk for sticking with it.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

There is no rest.

Which bothers you more: that Monk is doing a great job, or that his detractors are disappearing?

It never bothers me when players for my team play well, that is the sort of petty **** that drives me crazy. I don't know why you would even ask that question.

There literally was only Malone that bashed Monk. Monk had a bad season, but he was 19, missed SL and training camp, and was asked to play a new position. It was expected that he would struggle.

He clearly has the talent. He just needs to develop.

Because there aren't other Monk haters? How is that whining?

I dunno. With MCW's elite defense Orlando likely wouldn't have scored over 20 points and probably quit at halftime to go to Disney World.

Monk has averaged 13.2 minutes per game this year. He is probably the most talented player drafted by the Hornets since Kemba Walker.

In his rookie season, Frank Kaminsky played 21.1 minutes per game. He was, frankly, not very good. I don't get it.

This should be near the top of the list when they show Cliff the door this summer.
You.
Don't.
Develop.
Talent.

Vets are great and there should be some reigning in of rookies and players that aren't ready, but Cliff is at the other end of this extreme. He doesn't get it.

Good job Monk!! Way to power through the adversity an frustration and shine. He has star potential and can be a part of a lethal backcourt for awhile. Start Kemba-Lamb next year and let Monk develop as a 6th man off the bench at 20 years old.

I think the Monk hate was more unconditional support of Cliff than intentional hate of Monk. I am not sure the people realized what it came across as when they tried to defend the mistakes he made all year.

Monk is still my guy!!! Ankle injury, no sl, no training camp, cliff....its to be expected in 13 mins per game. But these past few games has given major glimpses and shown us what he can really do. He just turned 20. If he was a 22 or 23 year old rookie I'd understand the hate (Kaminsky). But not at 19/20

This is the sort of petty **** that I hate.

No one has blindly supported Cliff this season. Name a single person that has not said he should be replaced. Or, you know, don't, because tracking viewpoints to scoreboard takes is stupid.

People have blindly supported Cliff this year as they have done with him and certain players in the past. Everyone has their own opinions and that is the nice thing about the board but this wasn’t a petty comment as much as explaining why some people may not think the were Monk hating when they were. It is what it is though and if you want to think otherwise that is your right.

I don't think there is a single regular on this board that has not said at some point this season that it's time to replace Cliff.
