Can't lie, I'm pretty tempted with LeBron moving west. I think if there's a way to get Kawhi, even without a guarantee beyond the year, the Hornets should pull the trigger. I'd have no reservations about adding next year's first, as it's a weaker draft at this point and a Kemba/Kawhi combo likely place the pick in the early-to-mid 20s. Future picks could be dicey but they could protect them in such a way that the blow could be minimal if the team is still bad in three years (basically meaning he leaves).

It's a gamble but **** it, the east is open.

So he can do to us what he did to the Spurs? Dude is worth nothing to anyone except LA. When you are top 5 player you call the shots.

It's possible that we lose Lamb all the same way in order to keep Kemba here. Would you rather lose Leonard next summer or Lamb next summer/this deadline....with the chance that Leonard at least makes us a top-3 team in the East....AND possibly pulls a Paul George and stays here with Kemba, Monk and Bridges.

Kemba
Monk
Leonard

I think that argument was a lot stronger before PG resigned in OKC.

Obviously they aren't the same guy, but shows power of incumbency.

The narrative of it's dumb to trade for a guy on a short deal that wants to go to LA was just definitively proven wrong. If it hadn't literally just been proven wrong, it would be a better argument.

Did Paul George ever refuse to play for Indiana or okc in the playoffs?

Kawhi refusing to play for anyone else insures the Lakers don't get gutted to get him. Spurs are either going have to be stubborn and watch him sit out the year again or trade him to LA for an okay price.

I just want to know who the Lakers convince to take Deng. I think we could be a target if they were interested in Kemba.

That was a SAS issue, which has been well documented. PG tanked his market too by going public that he was demanding a trade. Not as extreme as sitting out games, but it's still a very similar situation.

MCW to Houston seems odd considering he can't make layups or 3 pointers and every other shot is banned in Houstons offensive system.

The Spurs have zero leverage with Kawhi threatening to sit out this season if traded to any other team.

It's funny how all the public is saying the Lebron trade is such a huge win for the Raptors when we own the Raptors.

Alan Williams waived by the Suns. This is the guy that humiliated our team back in 2016-17 season. Could be worth a look; would be an upgrade over JOB.
