Re: Mark Daigneault vs Rick Carlisle
Between overarching strategy and in-game management, Rick has coached an absolute masterclass this playoffs.
Daigs has improved as series progress though.

Daigs is a good coach but Rick has decades of experience on him. He outcoached Daigs badly last game.

Daigs has probably cost his team two game ones with bad late game decisions. The stupid fouling strategy against the Nuggets and not having a big in the game on the Thunder's final possession in case Shai missed. An elite coach doesn't make those mistakes.

He's terrible at times (game manager) . Too many brain farts. But, he's still learning.
Young coach.

Rick is easily the best at single handedly stopping the other teams momentum. That alone makes him better than the other guy.

Adelman really made a lot of solid schematic adjustments that made Mark look less impressive but as that series went on Mark got a lot better.
I think despite having injuries, no depth and only 3 games in the RS to prepare for the PO, Adelman has done a great job against a healthy and deep team. So given the situations I think he outcoached Daigneault, pretty convincingly actually.
I actually like his adjustment on playing only 1 big against this Pacers team, I'm not sure Siakam is a great matchup for Chet as Siakam has excellent footwork and can do his herky jerky moves to get around him, and Turner just going to pull him out to the perimeter. But the team need him out there. I don't think Siakam would have grab that offensive rebound put back if one of Chet or Hartenstein is in the game.

The 2005-06 Suns will always have a special place in my heart

This is nothing to be embarrassed about. Jokic rules. Any team would have a (very) hard time whenever they play against the absolute best player in the world.
He was the best player in the world. That time is over.

In game 6 of 2013 Finals, Popovich take out Duncan in the crucial seconds that resulted to an offensive rebound by Bosh and Ray Allen 3 that basically cost them an NBA title. Does that mean Pop isn't an elite coach with that mistake?

Lol. He was the best player in the Olympics, the NBA pre season , season and postseason. Did better with less talent.

If Daigs gets half the results Pop did, he’ll get more of a benefit of the doubt.

Xs & Os aside, I disliked Daigneault’s body language early. He looked tight, and uncomfortable. The team too often followed suit.
Thunder should fire him and hire Thibs.

Yea, right, the scapegoat for the chicken wing MVP is the coach now.
Not like the MVP in his 10 minutes of the 4th quarter had 3 points with 1/3 FG, 1/2 FT, 1 rebound, 0 assists and stocks and 1 turnover. What a clutch performance.
