He said himself he would need 1 week of running in the pool (which should almost be over); 1 week of running of a treadmill, then 1-2 weeks of actual practice... as long as there are no setbacks during this process, he will be back on the court 2-3 weeks before playoffs

I must have missed this. Was this during a recent broadcast, because I know it wasn't in the papers.

He does not need plays drawn for him to be effective... However at any time you can dump the ball inside to him where he shoots 64% from the field... Most of his buckets come from quick/easy pick and rolls, or a dish from Kobe from the perimeter...

Where he will help most is on the defensive end, where, as a starter he is averaging 11 rebounds and 2+ blocks...

True but Lamar can't shoot which means he can't space the floor and when Kobe is doubled, the only reliable shooter on the floor is Fisher who seems to be falling back to earth.

After the Dallas game on channel 7 (ABC)... It was the first time I watched a post game on ABC so I dunno what it was called but Michael Cooper and (Jim Hill?) were the hosts.... just some LA sports show, where Andrew was interviewed personally....

I think that's why we've been running more of Sasha and Farmar backcourt with Kobe at the 3. Either Lamar or Bynum will need to be moved to the bench IMO. Sasha or Vlad need to start to give us more spacing.

Hopefully in the offseason, we'll trade Lamar back to the Riley for their draft pick.

$14 million expiring next season is only worth their pick which should not be lottery if Wade is heathy?

Well the word is that Bynum is doing minor drills on the court but hasn't started practicing and therefore nothing can be expected now but he should be ready for the last couple of weeks according to everybody's estimates.

There's no point in playing Bynum/Gasol and Odom all together. They'd be much better having that one-two punch of Gasol starting and then BAM bring in Bynum to rest Gasol. Of course, i highly doubt Bynum or Gasol has the same egoless outlook to the game as Manu so i don't know if it would work for them.

I don't mind what you're suggesting except I'm confused with the ego part. Pau and Bynum having egos leaves me scratching my head, especially for Bynum. Bynum came off the bench for Kwame before and Pau has already settled in behind Kobe.

If Bynum-Gasol-Odom doesn't work out, I wouldn't mind that bench role you suggested. When Bynum was coming off the bench, the bench was very strong. The bench with him even scored 70+ points one time. It would also help Turiaf play his natural PF position. He has been at the C spot more lately.

But I do think Phil would like to try to make his Odom at the SF plan succeed. He tried it a few years ago and he tried it at the beginning of this season with Kwame-Turiaf-Odom-Kobe-Fisher.

It seems like both scenarios have a good chance of succeeding. The only question is Bynum's health which no one knows at this point.

^ It was on ABC, he was doing shooting drills with Kareem. It's not surprising given that he has been able to walk fine since day 1 and the swelling is nearly completely gone. He wasn't running or anything, he can only do pool stuff.

Shooting drills are okay... they're okay! Aren't they? :)
