There's no point in playing Bynum/Gasol and Odom all together. They'd be much better having that one-two punch of Gasol starting and then BAM bring in Bynum to rest Gasol. Of course, i highly doubt Bynum or Gasol has the same egoless outlook to the game as Manu so i don't know if it would work for them.
I don't mind what you're suggesting except I'm confused with the ego part. Pau and Bynum having egos leaves me scratching my head, especially for Bynum. Bynum came off the bench for Kwame before and Pau has already settled in behind Kobe.
If Bynum-Gasol-Odom doesn't work out, I wouldn't mind that bench role you suggested. When Bynum was coming off the bench, the bench was very strong. The bench with him even scored 70+ points one time. It would also help Turiaf play his natural PF position. He has been at the C spot more lately.
But I do think Phil would like to try to make his Odom at the SF plan succeed. He tried it a few years ago and he tried it at the beginning of this season with Kwame-Turiaf-Odom-Kobe-Fisher.
It seems like both scenarios have a good chance of succeeding. The only question is Bynum's health which no one knows at this point.
